Some of the other boards were harping about the timeframe - just shooting a commercial now. But I'm trying to remember - isn't there some restriction such as no DTC advertising for 6 months after launch. If so, then they're doing just fine.

Just imagine. You are watching the Super Bowl February 1. The room is full of fat people drinking and eating chips, cheese & crackers. Then the huge tray of wings come out. One guy has to inject himself with his prandial insulin right into his stomach. People look at him weirdly. Then the other guy whips out his/her dreamboat and takes a puff. Instant glucose control. No fear of a hypo. It's coming. Tick tock.......

I'd like to see the Afrezza commercial during the first half, maybe towards the end (hopefully not a blowout like last year) when there's max amounts of eyeballs on the TV. They need to keep the commercial message simple and clear that Afrezza is a superior way for Diabetics to get their insulin.

Imo, it's highly unlikely an afrezza commercial is on during the superbowl

I have the perfect candidate. Monica Lewinsky. She's rubenesque and likes to blow! She's perfect.

Imo, it's highly unlikely an afrezza commercial is on during the superbowl no way in hell. we would all be losing our sh%t if that happens. unless of course the ad works, ha. Plus I want to see a little more than the female hand during superbowl commercials. is that so wrong? also, this thing is for the website, at least initially. Usage: Cat II Industrial for drug co website

Imo, it's highly unlikely an afrezza commercial is on during the superbowl Yeah, somehow a Super Bowl commercial doesn't exactly fit with : "I don't see it as a huge ramp up because something that people don't always appreciate is that even though it's insulin you still have to produce it, scale up, and make it with the devices. Those steps have to be carefully managed, it's the same for biosimilars, you can announce a biosimilar but to produce it in the quantity that you need is not something you can do overnight. So controlled launch is what we want and then expand."

A SB commercial will likely cost between 4m to 5m per :30 spot this year. And that does not include the production costs. As I mentioned in a previous post some time ago it also does not fit within Sanofi's announced plan for a "controlled launch." Previously i mentioned that I would go local and start in dma's with high per capita incidents of diabetes and obseity. I would also target specific programming such as Food Network, Football, CSI etc (show's that have a audience with a high demographic of potential Afrezza consumers within their viewership) etc... Also I would engage national platforms such as the Today Show with Dr. Nancy Sneiderman, Steve Harvey, Dr. Oz and also look at National Diabetes Month with support of a "The More You Know" PSA tie-in campaign. Just mho...
And in two years time when we have established an educated consumer base The Olympics...
Also note that the casting call for Afrezza says "Industrial" so likely for trade shows and other corporate purposes. Not a description for broadcast TV nor broad public consumption outside trade shows and doctor's offices.
(In full disclosure I spent 30 years in the television advertising business)
