This seminar at a Michigan college did a decent job of presenting Afrezza. I've included a link to the PowerPoint handout (below).
46th Annual WMSHP Spring Seminar An educational program developed for community and health-system pharmacists, technicians, and students.
Tuesday, May 5th, 2015 Prince Conference Center Calvin College 1800 E. Beltline SE Grand Rapids, MI 49546Sweet or Sour? The future of diabetes treatment (Handout [PDF] | Slides [PowerPoint]) - Dana Staat, PharmD

Thank to kimi_held for finding this. Incidentally, I'm finding other sites where this specific presentation is being used by other physicians & pharmacists.

I have a doctor friend of mine (whom I have posted about in the past) who went to the KOL conference in Atlanta for Afrezza/Toujeo and he has already led one of these conferences and has another already scheduled for June. He also now has 20 patients on Afrezza, mostly T1's (although a couple of T2's as well) and he has told me that there is a nearly universal response that it is amazing. A couple have had minor issues but he said there are 100% renewals for his patients with scripts.

Biologic Comparison of a Novel Inhaled Insulin DPI Formulation to Exubera™
April 30, 2015
11 AM ET (5 PM CET)
Market Segment: Pharmaceutical Inhaled peptides and proteins have promise for respiratory and systemic disease treatment such as diabetes. This class of molecules is particularly well suited to formulation and processing by spray drying to achieve respirable engineered particles.
This webinar will discuss important aspects of formulation and process development for an inhaled biotherapeutic as well as describe important pre-clinical in vivo model methodologies required to understand biologic performance. Specifically, it will discuss pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic performance after pulmonary delivery of a DPI, providing an overview of a recent case study, demonstrating in vitro and in vivo inhalation performance of a novel spray-dried powder of insulin in comparison to Exubera™.
Speakers: David Vodak, Ph.D., Senior Director, Pharmaceutical R&D, Capsugel Philip Kuehl, Ph.D., Research Scientist at Lovelace Respiratory Research Institute

A couple have had minor issues but he said there is 100% renewals for his patients with scripts. Thank you Mannmade. That is music to my ears. Not that I was really expecting anything different, but it is always nice to see confirmation to ones beliefs. In retrospect, Sanofi and Mannkind have been playing this fairly smart. As JPG has pointed out several times T1s are the door to the diabetic population. They are the patients that understand insulin the best and can work out dosage and other details. Once doctors see what Afrezza is doing for the T1 population and whatever misconceptions they might have had are set aside, we should see an explosion in prescriptions. I believe Lily and Novo know this, hence the preemptive moves they have taken pumping advertising budgets and announcing research facilities. At the end of the day, either they are able to find a way to come very close to Afrezza's pharmacokinetics, or they will have to come to terms with the fact that they simply can't compete. Truly Alfred Mann is a real genius.

Thanks mnholdem, I like the fact that Afrezza is being introduced to Practitioners as: " Ultra rapid acting insulin Peak-15 minutes “Regular” insulin Bioavailability varies depending on inhaler technique (21-30% of SubQ)"

You're a whiz with this stuff, Harry! Now, do you think we'll get some info at what went down at the nurses meeting?

If I were a Novo rep...I would have submitted my application to SNY a long time ago...just sayin..would be the equivalent of leaving one of the competitors to work for apple when the iPhone came out, nothing like having a product that sells itself...isn't that what has been going on since launch?
