First examination is in progress
20-11-2015 (Nov 20, 2015) First examination report
Published: 23-12-2015 (Dec 23, 2015)
Is it typical for these to be pre-dated?

I don't know what everything in that document means, but isn't the filing date several years back? It says:
Application number, filing date 12784825.7 24.10.2012
Priority number, date US201161550860P 24.10.2011

Perhaps a requirement/schedule to publish results 1 calendar month after the first business day following the beginning of the examination?

"The date of the Examining Division's first communication in respect of the earliest application for which a communication has been issued is 24.11.2015"

So I guess that means they will communicate their findings to the applicants on 11-24?

For a patent to be filed with another company's product, it means partnership.

Most recent activity is: 11/20/15 - First Examination Report. So that means the first examination report is complete. 11/23/2015 suggests the report will communicated to the company then, and 12-23/2015 suggests the report will be made public on that date (unless we hear about it from the applicants first?)

Im going to guess that the 12-23-2015 publication is based on it being 20 months from the European filing date of 4-23-14 (day that examination was requested and fee paid).
This patent application (Same applicants and inventors) was first filed in the US as application 14/354,092 on 10-24-2012 and is based on a provisional application filed in the US on 10-23-2011. The US application has been printed as pre-grant publication 2014/0302151 on 10-9-2014. The US application is still under examination.
Also a PCT was filed and designated several countries, and was published as WO 2013063160

Torrey Pines and MannKind already have a partnership. Yes. Strange that some frequent posters see this as news and post it as if this is a big new thing. A bit like Teva and now Pfizer (because they have an address in Connecticut: what?). What is missing from this pain partnership is $ to actually move this partnership forward. Maybe someone will make a commection with a Swiss company because there are banks in Switzerland and there is money in those banks. Onvious right? It's sad that we are left to reading the tone of a press release to gather clues to what is going on. There seems to be almost a comcensus that Hakan was fired. What if it wasn't Hakan who 'screwed up' but Mannind and Hakan couldn't support what Mannkind was doing? Whay if his departure is a sign of something rotten in Mannkind?

It does seem that there is a group of online posters that enjoy connecting dots that frankly don't connect. And if i recall, Torrey Pines is/was having financial difficulties too and that put the pain trials it had hoped to start in 2014 on ice.

If you did you would understand why your comment is not particlulary fair to TP. I would also postulate that your posting history makes me believe you are simply throwing stuff hoping something sticks (and you sadly have an embarrasment of riches to creat FUD out of right now!).

Well this "partnership", for all who'd like to call it such, is sure doing us a lot of good [sarcasm intended]. This "thing" with Torrey Pines has been known for many years, and whether it's beginning to pick up steam or not, will have no material effect on whether MNKD survives the short term. I don't think this topic was worthy of its own thread, just more [inedible] fodder for us to drool over during this trying time.
