I can't wait to see the commercials in the daily soaps and local TVs. More likely is Afrezza would get play on Discovery networks because they may have gotten a good package deal for sponsoring the show. Advertising on TV is all about reach. The more viewers that watch a show or timeslot, the more money it is to advertise to that group. Mass television advertising is expensive. Can't see them doing that in the short term. While TV is primarily a reach vehicle, frequency is also a big factor in cost. Some advertisers will boost their frequencies by overlaying the network TV plans with print, digital, etc. which are much less expensive. The big Kahuna is getting both broad reach and frequency via network TV, but that is pretty expensive. I was happy to see the commercial played twice during the show. Now if Disc.Life could only get rid of those sick promos for their other shows about obesity and freaky habits (or whatever it was). I could barely look at them and unfortunately, for me, they detracted from the appeal of the Afrezza ad. Advertising environment is equally important.

Mannkind announced they were working with Precision Effect in Boston which made the Cologuard ad. They presumably developed the insulin/outsulin characters. I was suprised they werent used.
www.precisioneffect.com/
Maybe Mannkind is waiting for Pediatric approval to introduce the Insulin/Outsulin characters. Any further word on the status of the pediatric trial?

since googling the afrezza commercial on youtube on Wednesday, more afrezza youtube videos are coming up as suggested. Eric Fenar came up. A fabulous Afrezza information source complete with MattB. Afrezza can change anyone's life. Just trust it and learn it www.youtube.com/watch?v=iS4Vxly5-WABlood Sugar from 335 to 120 in 1 hour. AFREZZA is the FASTEST Insulin! www.youtube.com/watch?v=xkOVPAikJm0Perhaps the afrezza commercial will take people to Eric.

It would be nice if that were the case, but primarily I would think it is us investors that would do a search for the commercial. For others, if they don't see it on TV they wouldn't know to search for it, and if they just saw it on TV, as good as I think it is for its purpose, I don't think people will search for it to watch it multiple times.

Since this thread is stickied we should put up a link to the higher quality version of the commercial that Mannkind posted on YouTube. (It should be on the first post instead of the low quality cell phone camera version) High Quality URL: www.youtube.com/watch?v=INHz5-I35DAI typed out the entire text from the commercial: For those with diabetes, meal time is really time to think about Insulin. When do I prepare? Where do I inject? But Afrezza lets you inhale your insulin when food arrives…. even unexpectedly. So you can be spontaneous and not rely solely on injections. Afrezza is a rapid acting inhaled insulin used to control adult diabetes. Afrezza can cause serious side effects including: sudden lung problems and low potassium. Afrezza is not for patients with chronic lung disease such as asthma or COPD. Tell your doctor if you smoke, recently stopped smoking, have ever had kidney or liver problems, a history of lung cancer or if you are pregnant or breast feeding. Most common side effects are low blood sugar, cough and sore throat. Severe low blood sugar can be fatal. Do not replace long acting insulin with Afrezza. Afrezza is not for use to treat diabetic ketoacidosis. Do not take Afrezza if you are allergic to insulin. Talk to your doctor before changing your Afrezza dose. Blood sugar may need to be checked more frequently. Ask your doctor if Afrezza inhalable insulin is right for you.

Looks pretty status quo. I am wondering, since rapid acting analogs can also cause low potassium, do the RAA commercials also warn about low potassium?
This is difficult. "Talk to your doctor before changing your Afrezza dose" people on rapid acting analogs can change their dose with carb counting, can't they? do the rapid acting analogs have this statement? If so, the sanofi prescriptions were mostly the 90 cartridge 4unit I believe. As we all know that will not cover meals.
Although Eric Fenar did say in that video, he only uses 4 unit cartridges and has to use two cartridges for 8 units. My bet is eric has learned how to stay in range with 4unit cartridges. He never allows himself to get too far out of range.

The low potassium warning is there but I don't think the dosing varying warning is. Even if you are not carb counting you are using a variable dose because the older sliding scale method incorporates corrections.

The sliding scale method? would it be something like: starting blood glucose +[ carb + fat] = dose and timing?

The sliding scale method was rather brutal, you had to eat the same amount of carbs at each meal. You had things called exchanges where you could swap out one item for another with the same value. You also had to eat at the same time each day. It was partly a result of using NPH which had a few very marked peaks and you needed to eat to match those peaks. The other part was to simplify dosing.

Looking at semrush.com it appears that there was only modest bump in traffic to afrezza.com site from Reversed airing.
Though, the data they are showing has three days in a row with exactly the same number of visits. Over ten thousand and it's the same number precisely? That seems pretty fishy... statistically it seems astronomically improbable. Does anyone know how accurate semrush really is? How they track it? Perhaps they are better for sites with a lot of traffic and less reliable for low traffic sites?
