I think this decline has to be looked at in the context of the run up to the PIPE. Not saying it was a bad move, but there was quite a bit of hype, smoke and mirrors that helped drive the price up in order to do the PIPE at a rather surprisingly high mark. Especially with doubling the potential share count, reality is now setting in that it is likely still a long slog before we're out of the woods.

On the positive side, people who wanted to sell at a loss to offset capital gains can now offset even more of those gains! One would have to enter that at their own risk at this point with the 30 days being post 1/15 at this point, IMO. They could come out smelling like a rose or sick to their stomachs for trying to time a write off. Loss on expiring options is one thing, losses from selling a stock to mitigate paying taxes is another if you do have to chase the price up later on, that is the risk you run by selling within the last 15 days of the year As a reminder to those newer to investing: The rule defines a wash sale as one that occurs when an individual sells or trades a security at a loss, and within 30 days before or after this sale, buys a “substantially identical” stock or security, or acquires a contract or option to do so.

Kind of funny that when all was said and done this thread was about roughly a nickel for this specific trading day, btw, still hard to borrow albeit at "only" 40% if you could

Don't get caught up in the fictional FUD. The tide is changing for the better.

Afrezza has been on market for almost 3 years and insurance coverage is still very poor. haven't seen any other drug has such a poor coverage. I am always puzzled why MNKD didn't put insurance coverage as highest priority. Without good coverage, the effectiveness of sales rep is greatly impacted.

Mike can fix the insurance problem real fast. All he has to do is cut the price of a 90ct box to $50, no insurance needed. The way AOL made the market back in the day was to give away CDs at $0 at a zillion stores. I did the same with a software product which was fully NITF 2.0 certified which I was selling to government agencies. I was shut out of every Government contract and finally got on a schedule but had no sales. I made demo CDs and left them at all the target agencies and gave it away for the price of an email. I will warn Mike doing such a thing can really piss some people off.

I gave away demo disks. If you wanted the full application all you had to do was send me an email and we would give you the ftp credentials. Mike needs to set the price for the next 2 years at $50 and flood the market. After 3 years we are doing 500 scripts a week with a paradigm shifting super blockbuster product. MNKD can not compete against BP on a playing field titled against them. Its time to tilt it in their favor. Unless Mike has some deals going we can't keep doing the same thing which means adding a few scripts every week. Technology is now in place to support the launch. VDex type coaching programs need to spring up like dandelions to link the PWD to the online services like Onduo and One Drop and insurance is standing in their way. Set the price, do the TV commercials and stand out of the way. 70+% of T2 are not at an A1c of 7. More important nearly 100% of newly diagnosed PWDs are scared and have no idea what they are facing and are looking for help. Send the message that the #1 killer is heart disease and PWDs are 3x more likely to get it and the way to stop it is to stop the spike and keep non-diabetic BG, Maybe there are other ways to stop the spike but the easiest and short of a highly carb restricted diet "safest" is afrezza. It seems like a no-brainer to me.

I just saw a Trulicity commercial. They are offering it for $25 per month for the next two years. Lets hope Dachis can start selling afrezza direct soon for a small flat fixed amount. Maybe $50 is too much and it too should be $25.

Thats a lot of free advertising! It would be a very bold move, but, who knows...it could be just what we need. I was expecting (and still hold hope for) an announcement from mnkd very soon. The 140 million additional shares lead me to believe that something is in the works. Maybe I am mistaken. If there is not a deal pending and soon to be announced, the pps will obviously keep going down. Matt P along with our previous management, did things like that and we went from $10 plus pps to nearly zero! I thought that those days were over! And I hope that they are! If Mike and his team allow that to happen, I will not only be surprised, it will be my first disappointment in our new management. Not to mention, it will prove to be a big mistake. We cannot afford any more blunders!! GLTA!

After providing a list full of items in Q3 expected in the near term, i am pretty shocked that MNKD has not made any announcement of progress whatsoever, especially following a vote where shareholders almost unanimously placed their trust into this management. I get that they are out there trying to sell Afrezza but WHAT ELSE are they working on? I don't want to wait for quarterly calls to get glimpse into what progress they are making. Every other company in the world has a constant stream of PR for their shareholders.

Looks like we're back into the "drop 5% to 10% a day" mode until Mike et al reveal something new. in the past, the shorts have almost always been right that there was no good news to be had. What will it be this time? Who would have thought we'd lose 2/3 of the market cap in a little more than two months when it hit the $6+ price.
