New article out by Spencer Osborne at SA, (unless I misread something) he attributes the big rise in coverage to the recent deal with CVS. "A bit over a month ago, MannKind (NASDAQ:MNKD) CEO Mike Castagna announced that the company had reached a deal with CVS Caremark (NYSE:CVS) in regard to gaining insurance access for its diabetes treatment Afrezza. The deal made access available to numerous plans that previously excluded Afrezza from any form of coverage."Alrighty then, it showed up in Mn's numbers, large. Good planning. STAT.

Good news taste much better without skepticism. I am going to take this and run with it! Thank you, more good things to come. Good news is better when it is not incorrect. Here's hoping it isn't. But I guess it gives a good excuse to drink champagne midday for those that want to run with it. Given fomularylookup.com did this before (and I "ran with it" then), put me down as once bitten twice shy... but fingers crossed. Perhaps others could check their own insurance coverage against what formularylookup.com is saying for their plan.

The people on Spencer’s thread just caught wind of it is about right, because still this morning they were bitching about Mike being CEO of the year. And blaming all of us:-))

Escapin' through the lily fields I came across an empty space It trembled and exploded Left a bus stop in its place The bus came by and I got on That's when it all began There was cowboy Neal At the wheel Of a bus to never-ever land

I don't wanna click on SO's article, but is it generally a positive article from him? Can't recall that ever happening before.

I don't wanna click on SO's article, but is it generally a positive article from him? Can't recall that ever happening before. “ MannKind announced that they cut a deal with the CVS PBM. In addition, the formulary lookup site used to have CVS as 93% not covered. It is now 100% covered. I look at the formulary lookup each week, so am very familiar with the numbers from the site. A comment from Spencer

S o has been worth the read recently. He is less biased though still cautious. Most importantly this article is informative ie. Cvs
Mannkinds guidance reflects this change in coverage. It may reflect other behind the scenes events. Nevertheless money is still needed. If sales take off the the next round dilution won’t be so bad.

SO has been projecting sales forward using a simple trend approach.
Nate says it’s nonsense and to expect a hockey stick.
Announcements like this are why SO projections are nonsense. There is no forward looking variable in what he does. Entirely based upon historical performance.
Instead of his commentary along the lines that this is one less excuse for MNKD if they can’t sell.
Why not “this could really change my prior projections by....”

I find him useful because he keeps track of cash burn in his spreadsheet and lists our upcoming events - so I don’t have to.
