INO may be promising, but the pump induced run up wasn't justified and really hurt some naive investors. Perhaps they will be a player in vaccines for COVID-19 when they come out 12 to 18 months from now. There likely will be multiple companies with successful vaccines in that time period. Are you saying Inovio is responsible for the "pump induced run up?" or implying MMs and manipulators are responsible? or is it something else you meant? Inovio didn't sensationalize anything or make any inaccurate claims. They were one of ten companies invited to the White House to speak to the President and VP. Inovio is the leader in coronavirus vaccine development, developed their COVID-19 vaccine in 3 hours, will begin human clinical trials in April, and expect to have their COVID-19 vaccine ready for emergency mass supply before the end of this year. Some people, and some companies, really take offense to that because their technology and know-how is not as advanced as Inovio's, and so their timelines are much longer and slower. Marketing Making firms (the companies that actually play that role) certainly don't get involved in pumping stocks. They just serve as middle men making money mostly off of the spread between bid and ask. I'm talking about people that were out hyping INO... which I guess one could label as manipulation. It isn't necessarily illegal, and as long as it's not the company saying things they know to be untrue then you can't sue someone else for buying into their hype... just as there isn't anything illegal about talking bad about a company even if it's hyping the risks. Buyer beware when it comes to stocks. INO may be well positioned. If anyone was implying they would have a vaccine for use other than trials in the near term that would certainly be misleading. I would assume the company has not stated otherwise. I think there was a lot of hyping of the stock that occurred hence the unreasonable spike and subsequent crash. I do believe traders have been engaging in pumping of various stocks playing on COVID.

That certainly is not misleading, unless it is someone trying to distort others from the truth (which we have seen individuals continually do and also "research" firms, etc...) You have to understand that Inovio has achieved what very few, if any, have before. Their technology is revolutionary. People in other stocks and competing companies get upset over it. This is why Citron Research should be investigated for Short and Distort. They clearly made bogus claims against the company. Inovio developed the vaccine in 3 hours. No one else can do that.

The company is developing its lead mCBM compound Neumifil as a universal therapy for respiratory tract infections such as influenza, respiratory syncytial virus and coronaviruses, including the novel coronavirus. Neumifil acts by concealing glycan receptors in patients’ airways to prevent the entry of the virus, expected to provide against all viral strains.
Pneumagen CEO Douglas Thomson said: “We’re committed to support the global effort to treat the coronavirus pandemic and believe our universal therapeutic modality has the potential to block access to lung cells of the Covid-19 virus that causes respiratory tract infections. This builds on proven pre-clinical efficacy we’ve shown against flu, RSV, parainfluenza, and other viruses. “With new funding, we would be able to move rapidly into clinical studies. We already have a manufacturing process in place and material for further testing.” ==================================================================== that sounds pretty darn good. I have to look at the drugs with the suffix FIL.

Mannkind and Pnuemagen aren't working together though right? Looks like the article is talking about two different companies and treatments.
The Pnuemagen treatment sounds really good!!!
Wish Mnkd would tell us what they are working on.

It looks like at least two other vaccines are ahead of them and have already started trials... Moderna has, and I believe at least one Chinese developed vaccine. That slide makes it clear they won't be through clinical trials by end of year, so it would depend on what the public statements were as to whether they were misleading. Anyone implying it will be in mass use by end of year I would say was being misleading as that isn't consistent with approval processes. Hope they and the others are successful.

Wish Mnkd would tell us what they are working on. clueless here, I am looking. Looks like something MNKD could do. MannKind has shifted the research and development (R&D) resources allotted for its lung diseases pipeline to help fight respiratory viral infections, including Covid-19. www.pharmaceutical-technology.com/news/covid-19-mannkind-pneumagen-therapies/

Lots and lots of the brightest medical/biomedical minds in the world are focused on killing this one nasty virus. I doubt there has ever been such a concerted effort by scientists (that are now connected via the web, not to mention aided with incredible technology) with their sights set on one target.
Lots and lots of opportunistic CEO's are trying (desperately in some cases) to tie their biotech company to the effort in any way possible. A few mentioned ARDS has been around a long time and will continue to be, but only now are many companies turning their attention to it? Hmmm.
I think at least one treatment for the virus will be found quite soon. Question is, when will it be released for public use? Get some folks on death row to volunteer to get infected in return for a commutation of their death sentence and being sent to a "nicer" prison. For a healthy young adult, the risk of signing up for a trial may not be as big as enlisting in the service at the start of WWII. And offer a nice payday for those that are willing. And sometime soon after a few treatments come on line, a vaccine should appear, but more important to find something that will kill the friggin bug, but leave the victim not too much worse for wear.
One other thing, not sure how many hospital ships there are, or whether the gov plans on refitting other naval ships as floating hospitals, but c'mon, look at all the really new, nice cruise ships just floating around doing nothing - rent those and get them refitted quick - a way to help the cruise line industry and to deal with this friggin mess. The bigger issue is equipping the floating and non-floating hospitals with all they need.
Political pot-shots are down, but they should be totally OUT! All the people that dislike Trump might warm up to him some if he just said, "Look, as you all know, I like to spar roughly with my political enemies. But this is way too serious an issue, I will not longer respond to those who attack me, no time or energy for that, and you know what they're trying to do, anyway." Psychologically, not sure he can do that, but I think it would be a very helpful move.

And to the prisoner on death row ... or the healthy young adult ... don't worry because I am offering baba $1M in cash to be that 'test person". And I'll also throw in a super hero costume for free.
But, that's mytakeonit
