I listened to call several times now. Now I'm not sure if it was billion or million. It's at about 40 minute mark of call when Martine is answering a call

@ 41:21 of uthr earnings call Martine says "i think with regard to inventory we're going to be in good shape. in fact just this week at the request of our head of manufacturing we allocated 5 billion dollars for inventory buildup for the TreT launch during 2021. So we regularly visit the Mannkind plant in Connecticut where we do all the manufacturing and i feel confident we'll have adequate supply to meet our needs"

When asked about the ever expanding market for Tre-T, Mike said with a smile, "We're gonna need a bigger boat"
$5 million would maybe go to beef up our facilities for making small molecules. I think they're trying to tell us that Tre-T is going to be a monster. If he said $5 Billion, then he's obviously talking about the inventory buildup to launch. BTW, I think $5 Billion is more like 3-5 years sales once approved for all indications.
IMHO, of course

The text on SeekingAlpha transcribed it as “$5 million” and not $5 billion

It sounded like billion to me too, but that would have made no sense, so she must have misspoke.

5 Billion was thinking ahead to 2022, and now it makes sense. Lets Go!

If we are talking inventory build up, then $5 Million makes no sense. If we sell $1M of Afrezza every week in the U.S., then would $5M be enough inventory to supply the rest of the world?
But, that's mytakeonit with a bigger boat ! (People from Hawaii ... I had to be real careful how I spelled boat ... if you know what I mean)

The price to manufacture the drug versus the sales price, especially for PAH is very different.
UTHR has only 3 to 4 thousand patients with net revenues of $500M a year for Tyvaso. So, the NET sales per patient per year is around $140K.
The inventory build up should be in anticipation of 2 years of demand.
It sounded to me that Martine said "5 Million", and basically to manufacture inventory for 8 thousand patients, that number seems reasonable.
I am just surprised that she commented on the manufacturing cost, and I do not know if TreT price will be comparable to Tyvaso... we shall see...
The royalties will be based on the Net revenues from TreT sales and it seems pretty obvious that UTHR is anticipating to switch all patients from Tyvaso to TreT from group 1 as well as gain a lot of new patients from group 3.
There is no approved treatment for ILD patients and many doctors are already prescribing Tyvaso off label according to the information discussed in CC today.

I heard it for my self and 5 mill is the way it sounded to me. Most of the call and questions revolved around tyvasso and TreT. And it sounds like Martine is all about TreT when she refers to her dreamboat and TreT product. Cant tell you who is against us but I am pretty sure who were with. Lets Go!

I listed to it multiple times and it is certainly $5 million for 2021. $5 billion is non-sensical at entire MNKD is worth $400 million, including all of the factory in Connecticut. Still $5 mil is not chump change for us, especially at a time when Affreza sales is not enough to support volume efficiency of the plant.

I know AH trading sometimes doesn't mean much the next day but, fwiw, UTHR was down by 28.70 (-21.74%) after it released its earnings.
Did UTHR give next quarter guidance that was disappointing or something?
