A Google search found this:
afrezza.com/find-a-doctor/There is one doc listed in my area, about 15 miles away. As I recall, there were several on a list that was posted a few years ago.

If my memory is still good ... I remember that MNKD put out a list of doctors across the nation that were upstanding in their field and also known to prescribe Afrezza. Afrezza was very new and hardly anyone had heard about it. I remember that there was only one doctor listed on Oahu whose office was only about a mile or two away from me. I haven't checked lately, but currently many doctors know about it ... even my VA doctor knew about it but said that it wasn't on the VA's list of prescribable drugs so he couldn't prescribe it. But, that's mytakeonit I remember that list, but don't remember any claim that the docs were outstanding in their field. And I remember complaints by diabetics that when they went to one of these docs they couldn't get a script for Afrezza. The suspicion was that if a rep visited a doc, if only to drop off materials about Afrezza, the doc was added to the list because he or she then "knew about Afrezza." Exactly how I recall it too. There were doctors on that list who were less than helpful to patients asking for Afrezza.

Hey Lefty, VDEX must be on Mannkind's radar after all. From the weblink you provided, it lists the nurse practitioner for VDEX in Owensboro, KY. Yippee 👍

I would have to argue that generally cows are outstanding in their field and doctors not so much. Okay, groan, I could not resist.

I checked that list and the same Dr. Laurie Tom is on it. She has an office in the local hospital now and probably sees a lot more patients now.
But, that's mytakeonit

Here’s the Facebook post....
“Has anyone paid the 45 dollars and talked to a physician through afrezza’s website? If so did they write you a script or were they just able to tell you whether or not afrezza was right for you ? I’m curious as my doctor has not been the most cooperative with afrezza in the past 5 years.”

4 days ago... “I am generally an avid reader and not a poster but I am so beyond upset. My daughter's endocrinologist prescribed Afrezza for her not quite 2 months ago. It has been THE MOST EFFECTIVE insulin she has ever used! She had reactions to Lyumjev and can't take it, Fiasp turned to water in a few months, and Humalog and Novolog take a minimum of 2 hours to kick in for her. We have mitigated a lot of her highs by looping the last few years but Afrezza has been a G*dsend for high carb snacks, sugary beverages, meals, and fun last minute things like funnel cake - just absolutely amazing for her. Today we received a letter from Express scripts that as of April 1, they will no longer cover it and she needs to switch back to Lyumjev or Humalog😭 I have calls pending with the doctor, and I just got off the phone with Afrezza assist. Afrezza assist can help us with an appeal, but they can't reach out on her behalf since it is off-label.
It is incredible to me that more T1d's and Endos are not aware or prescribing this wonder drug. I plan to fight this to the 3rd and final appeal if necessary as there is nothing like it! If anyone has any advice on appeals or they have done this and fought Express Scripts, any information would be appreciated. Thank you.”

Has anyone figured out how we lost express scripts?
Never mind. it is a big deal we lost Express Scripts. It was a big deal we had it.

“I’m about to start the arguing with Caremark CVS as they have said the same thing. I am not sure why multiple companies are deciding to refuse Afrezza. Oh who am I kidding it is all about cost. Good luck.”
“we got a letter about a month ago letting us know they are no longer covering it. At this point I am not sure if that means that the pharmacy has to get prior authorization like they have in the past three months— who knows?? I would assume that all CVS Caremark is the same and a tier 3 drug would be the same no matter who the employer is. I am fine with it being a tier 3 drug just don’t tell me you no longer cover it. “

I saw one post that said that even when Express Scripts "covered" Afrezza it was charging so much that it was cheaper to get it from Eagle Pharmacy anyway.
I'm not diabetic but recently changed my prescription plan to Aetna's Medicare Part D and found that a three month supply of a drug that I've been taking for the past year would cost $105 under the Aetna plan but $30.31 using my GoodRx card. Guess which plan I used.
The Aetna plan is administered by CVS Caremark.

Mannkind could not possibly start its own Vdex they wouldn’t know how. 🤣 This sounds like an organization that they do not want to be affiliated with. But are suggesting their services for what per se a prescription? Are they giving people prescriptions online? Didn't MNKD trademark a name for a HEALTH CLINIC? Altarerri (SP?) Mike did mention it and yes I believe with their experience and now CASH.....They could start a new venture.

Be did, although that wouldn’t be like a Vdex ..but they do seem to be gathering information and we all know there’s enough diabetics to go around👍🏻
