When I was working at a service station that did car repairs ... we had a few cases where the gear box was stuck. We would just get a small sledge hammer and hit the gear box ... problem solved.

We're hobbled by the FDA no matter what advertising medium we use. Those black box warnings are a HUGE problem, in so many ways. Not trying to pick a fight here, just asking what is the difference between this car in the Indy Grand Prix this weekend and a car that would have "Afrezza" on it? Maybe a difference is this? The assumption behind reminder ads is that the audience knows what the drug is for and does not need to be told. A reminder ad does not contain risk information about the drug because the ad does not discuss the condition treated or how well the drug works.
Reminder ads are not appropriate for drugs whose labeling has a "boxed warning" about certain very serious drug risks.

"Appropriate" is not forbidden... The box warning was not appropriate either so I see no problem with going ahead with it anyways, except that antagonizing this authoritarian monster may not be the best policy at this point in time.

I'm pretty sure I am over-thinking it but ... Assuming it is allowed, how about maybe Mannkind doesn't want to put 'Afrezza' on the side of a driver's car until it can afford to put it on the side of a car it knows is more likely to be a serious contender than a possible embarrassment? According to this site, Ed Carpenter racing was tied as the worst Indy Car team at the start of the season. Too many people focused on what does not matter.
No PWD is going to dismiss Afrezza because the race car driver who personally uses it as well as being sponsored by the Company who developed and manufactures it just so happens to place in unfavorable positions in the race. Who gives a shit.
Conor represents the average man, who BTW, is what the grand majority of PWD are. Average people. I doubt any PWD cares whether or not Afrezza is being advertised by the last place guy or the first place hot-shot celebrity guy.
If anything, the average consumer forms a more personable connection when more average type of people are the ones promoting it (and in this case, also personally using it).
