Pep, Do you think this is the week we get to break out the cigars for a new 52 week high? yes, we were so close today, however..... no cigar. I bet this week. perhaps tomorrow. The U.S. is expected to announce a fusion energy breakthrough. What we know: Scientists have for the first time been able to produce a fusion reaction that creates a net energy gain, the Biden administration is set to reveal tomorrow. Why it matters: It would be a big step forward in the decades-long quest to develop a technology that provides unlimited, cheap and clean power. Completely agree. PR BS is right. I remember being excited about NIF when it was first being constructed but then read where the focus became (or was all along?) thermonuclear arms research. Thermonuclear weapons were the first "net energy gain" fusion.
Prepping for more Congressional big tech budget spends where the NIF gets a fat chunk? How about spending some of that on the southern border? I'm a huge fan of commercial nuclear fusion power generation, but seriously doubt the government will figure it out.
Lest we forget, volume was good yesterday. Let's hope it continues and GROWS today! $5 in 2022, $12 in 2023!

Economically viable power from Nuclear fusion won’t happen any time soon because the energy and capital investments needed to produce power are so high. “Green” resistance will not be a problem. And in fact one of the reasons so much has been spent on fusion with no real results is that it promises energy without much of any waste.
