Opening bell over V-what? Don't think so.
Can't understand all the down playing. Why? Worried something good, really good, will happen?
A CEO with enormous brass cajones might schedule a NASDAQ opening bell ceremony with a make-or-break FDA decision hanging over his head, and I think Mike is courageous enough, but he has never struck me as brash.
What does the recent volume and stock price movement tell you is happening?

I have gone through so much disappointment with mnkd over a decade so I will be very excited with Tyvaso Dpi approval but ringing the bell with approval of Tyvaso Dpi will be awesome. Just ringing the bell is nothing burger.

What will make this into an epic event is FDA approval announcement prior to MannKind ringing the opening bell. In my mind, you gotta be hella confident on approval to expose yourself to this level of attention with an FDA approval projected to be the exact same day. Not a shred of doubt can exist. Can you even imagine the REAL excitement and buzz this will naturally create there at the event in real time if/when the announcement is made? This could be epic. The FDA decision has already been given to UTHR. It's just a matter of the UTHR typing up the press release and releasing it tomorrow at 4pm or Monday at 8am. |

Mike mentioned he is expecting 4 revenue sources next month. Mike would not have done that if a Rejection or DELAY was imminent. |

I'm not sure what the opposite of FUD is, but this is an example if it. I think "the opposite of FUD" is as harmful as actual FUD. |

While everyone may be correct about the bell ringing ceremony lining up with some important announcement, like Tyvaso DPI approval, I suspect MNKD had to apply and get approved for the bell ringing quite a long time ago, e.g., before they knew WHEN the FDA would rule or HOW they would rule. That said, they could get lucky--but when was the last time MNKD got lucky  . |

As prcgorman said, you don’t ring the bell to celebrate the “V-what” purchase. That said, I suspect approval is imminent and and then the bell ring is a fun PR synergy that gets a few more eyes on us for a couple of hours. Epic? Of course not. It’s not the NYSE bell, even that isn’t “epic.” What matters is approval, the bell is a nice conversation piece. |
