Fortunately mike knows better than to fall for the misinformational boogeyman (agree prc that’s a good word for it) videos and most assuredly won’t be sinking our much needed company dollars into such litigation. Message to any potential new MNKD investors: it’s all good, if you believe the company will perform than the investment is solid without you needing to worry about these boogeymen!

How do you know “mike knows”? Why are you concerned that MannKind management might take the issue seriously? We’re not saying we’re certain investigation needs to happen. We’re trying to understand the magnitude of the issue. We know illegal naked shorting happens, and we know it happened to MannKind in the past. it’s not a question of whether it happens or has happened to MannKind. It’s a question of whether it’s on-going at a level that requires action. i.e., since we know it happens, happened to us in the past, we should assume it’s stil on-going and it’s only a question of impact and response.

I can’t read his mind but would bet with 99% certainty that he won’t fall for anyone trying to pry open our company coffers for such an ill conceived effort. For example, the video posted above. It might be convincing to some, but hopefully someone at the ceo level will see through it easily. Mike has made his share of mistakes but he won’t make this one. (And if he were to have gone along with it it would’ve happened before now. So we can rest easy on this one.)

Every company gets shorted, weaker companies (like MannKind in the past) are more heavily targeted.
Look at the market response after a good earnings call like we just had. That's the best response to fight off shorting/illegal shorting/dark pool (or whatever else you want to call it). Keep building momentum and produce good earnings results.

Crooks always win. Making money illegitimatly or legitimately don't seem to matter as long as you don't get caught. Laughing all the to the bank. That's all it matters. No honor in wall street or politics. Elected politicians owning stocks they regulate.

Cretin is a lady? I assume not, but no way to tell for sure.

Of course Mike knows …you can tell by his responses to shareholder emails, that don’t get posted here by the way.

My guess is Mike is kind of between a rock and a hard place. Based on what agedhippie and others have said, shorting is likely from MidCap, although presumably not predatory in nature, simply hedging. I think the kind of shorting to be concerned about is from less ethical market makers. Is that a significant source of manipulative shorting against MannKind? That's the question to have answered. How much would that investigation cost? Does it even need to identify the sources, or simply show its worth further investigation? A conversation with potential sources of investigation is damned near free. Numeracle's legal counsel could issue a Request For Proposals from providers of such service and learn what work would be proposed, outcomes and results, and costs. It's not free in terms of the labor dedicated to the effort, but no upfront costs going out the door to any potential providers. If as some suggest, this would prove fruitless. Good, that means the lift is too great, or the returns too little, but based on facts, not based on BS.

I sometimes wonder of bringing back the uptick rule would slow some of this stuff down.

It's peanuts in the grand scheme of things, but I guess it's a start if they are serious and will go after larger entities...
