“I am completely unconcerned about this capital raise with the exception of worrying the money can be squandered. $150M or $200M is easier to spend than you might think.”
Quite a statement.

VDEX? owned by Wild Bill? the same guy who openly talked down Mannkind's goals and ideas to investors? And didn't he personally attack Mike's character? Anyways, I recall Mike saying "Give Bill enough rope and he will HANG himself". So I don't think ANYTHING will EVER materialize as long as Mike is CEO. This makes me Happy. Mike said that? I doubt that he said that. And Bill did not talk down Mannkind’s goals. He had different marketing ideas that he wanted utilized. For the good of all. I think Shawn’s post about being a new patient at Vdex holds a lot of weight. It’s a reality check on what can be accomplished. We all want Afrezza to be a resounding success. I feel like I'm in a position of power, hahah. I can let you think whatever you want, or I can show you undeniable proof to get you back on track. I'll let you think whatever you want.

But yet your only posts are about Vdex...
Al Mann was 100% correct. Afrezza is one of the greatest pharma products EVER. It just has to be sold differently. All the company needs to do is open their eyes to new ways of selling. What they’re doing now is hurting sales. It’s not just NOT making sales, but making failed sales, failed experience with the product. In effect MNKD is building a bad rep for Afrezza Not deliberately....just saying they don’t realize the effects of their actions in our opinion.
I’ll be posting some Vdex Data on the Vdex thread next week or sooner for who ever is interested.

Sports, what role do you think price vis-a-vis injected competitors plays, with and without insurance? I have always been nagged by this.

Along with not having broader insurance coverage. Unwillingness of doctors because of those two things. Also they view it as new, unproved and just don’t wanna take the time. You need to get the patient to trust you, teach them how to use a CGM first. Proper dosing is key to getting results for the insurance companies. But most of all you have to retrain the patient so they don’t have what they feel is a unsuccessful experience with Afrezza.

White Paper – The Vdex Protocol in a Significant Sample of Patients January, 2021 Each patient presented to Vdex after being referred from another physician where their level of blood glucose control was much worse. None were newly diagnosed by Vdex. Generally, the referring physicians had followed the ADA-recognized treatment protocol. These results occurred only after patients were switched to the Vdex protocol. static1.squarespace.com/static/5a37ff648fd4d234be3cea06/t/60400c9918ca0e632a67ee4f/1614810265923/White-Paper-4-The-Vdex-Protocol-in-a-Larger-Sample.pdfA different solution to the problem is necessary. A real solution would bring the patient’s HbA1c below about 6.3 where vascular damage is much reduced. A real solution would bring the patient’s HbA1c down to the normal range in many cases. That’s how one really tames the disease of diabetes. The Vdex protocol appears to be that real solution. Having now applied its protocol to a wider patient population, Vdex has seen no obstacles to broad adoption among people with diabetes, other than insurance coverage for the main therapeutic agent, Afrezza. Note however, that Vdex is fully compensated for its medical services in treating patients. Even if an insurance plan ultimately denies coverage for the therapy, the medical provider is compensated for its services. The most striking feedback from patients was their gratitude. They had finally found someone who could control their disease. They could finally stop being consumed by thinking and dealing with their diabetes. A number commented that they had never thought they could feel so good. Others said they no longer felt diabetic. Some simply broke down in tears. Every patient should have the option of the Vdex protocol.

Scripts are stuck in cement, as they have been for quite sometime. At least revenues are up, larger orders per script? 600-800 range bound. Pretty bad.

We at Vdex have nothing but positive things to say about how Afrezza works but that’s bc of how we use it. Use it incorrectly and you won’t see the results that help with insurance coverage.

The drug is RARELY COVERED. We have to fight like hell to get plans to cover. See MNKD can only advocate for Afrezza in accordance with ADA treatment protocol but used that way Afrezza doesn’t impress and is not likely covered. Our way we need to argue for an exception each time bc not in accordance with ADA. But we get it done. We know exactly how to get the results we need to get it covered. Afrezza is really better then most could ever imagine. Like Bills says, it’s hard for the doctors to even get their head around the results from this drug if used to its optimal potential.

The results are very impressive, but not unexpected since we already know how effective Vdex is at diabetes care. My only complaint is there is no CGM graphs. I always really like the graphs in the Vdex White Papers. Bring back the graphs 🙂
