I’ve been searching so long! Reminds me of a Chicago song. youtu.be/08sDz9Fqfnc?si=J2jzkJa93zJmsEF0As my life goes on, I believe Somehow something's changed Something deep inside Ooh, a part of me There's a strange new light in my eyes (there's a strange new light) Things I've never known Changing my life Changing me I've been searching so long To find an answer Now I know my life has meaning, oh yeah Now I see myself as I am Feeling very free Life is everything Ooh, it's meant to be When my tears have come to an end I will understand (yes I will) What I left behind Part of me I've been searching so long To find an answer Now I know my life has meaning Wait a minute Searching (don't you know I'm searching?) For an answer To the question Oh, yeah Who am I? (Yeah yeah, yeah, yeah) (Ooh, yeah, yeah, yeah) Baby (baby) It's true It's only natural (it's only natural, baby) Good things In life Take a long time Agreed. Chicago lovers like us will also enjoy this cover by Leonid and Friends, an exceptional cover band that seems to improve on the originals. Check ‘em out while we await the next MNKD quarterly- another catalyst, IMO. GLTALL (Longstanding longs)😊 youtu.be/XEDatFQ3m98?si=at-7WMl2UKO1RIFgBeen following Leonid and Friends for some time now as a huge Chicago fan and former horn player. One take away with all those years playing is that and I can still read sheet music. On the other hand, put the brass mouthpiece up to my lips and I can't blow a single note. My chops are long gone. Big fan of all their cover songs/groups; Chicago, Lighthouse, Blood Sweat and Tears, Carpenters, Earth Wind and Fire, Tower of Power. These guys kill it. For a bunch of Russian/Ukrainian band members, they cover it just as it sounded on vinyl. Glad you brought them up for the board to go check out. I just called my brother who lives in The Villages, where they play tonight. Sold out but, you can get tix at $600 from third party sellers. Might be cheaper today, LOL.

Former horn player here too; and I also could not play it now.

Former clarinet player here. I could probably play almost as good as I used to. Tells you how good I used to be.
However I did play Bary Sax one year in Jr. High. I really wanted to play bassoon, but the bassoon was broken. So the teacher, who was mad at me for not doing orchestra the first half of that year, gave me a Baritone Sax, Bassoon sheet music, and told me to transpose on sight.
Somehow I learned how to do it lol.

Agree we have no realistic worries about a takeover. I'd be ok if there were because it usually drives the share price up.
I assume a hostile takeover typically implies acquiring at least 51% of shares outstanding. If we assume 270M shares outstanding and round the share price up to $5 a share and multiply by 138M shares, it would mean somebody came up with $690M to try to buy MNKD. If the share price spikes to $6, then the cost of 51% of shares go up to $828M.
Not a big deal for a lot of players, but it would surprise me nonetheless.

Paying off debt is not necessarily a good thing. When you pay off debt it opens the company up to takeovers. Debt can be used as a Poison Pill. That's quite a stretch. Equivalent to saying there is a downside to being wealthy because you are more likely to be robbed. Well would you drive a Bentley on the streets of COMPTON??? Would you own a Bentley if you lived in COMPTON??? No.....

Would you own a Bentley if you lived in COMPTON??? No..... Avoiding analogies, your point about a hostile takeover is a possibility but I won’t try to speculate on how likely it is other than to say it doesn’t feel likely to me but that isn’t saying much (or anything?). Regardless, it is interesting to contemplate while we wait for more information to materialize. I wrote a post with a not very believable scenario of a hostile takeover buying up 51% of shares and mentioned takeover bids tend to increase target company share price (unless the current management is generally despised in which it can have the reverse effect - haven’t been following Disney but I’ve wondered about that). And, your observation that a company without debt, increasing cash, and a good future cash flow (FCF) outlook can be a target for takeover has merit. Don’t know if that necessarily applies to MNKD, but your point is valid I think. I will open myself to criticism and ridicule (when have I not?) and remind readers that the boilerplate on the last request to increase the quantity of authorized shares (remember authorized is not the same as issued) mentioned the additional potential shares could be used to deter a hostile takeover bid. The Saagard deal to increase cash on hand to be able to pay off the $230M in convertible bond debt now comes sharply into focus. Many folks on this board roundly groused about the share authorization and were dismissive of the boilerplate. Looks like they can perhaps be a little more sanguine about the authorization.

a·nal·o·gy - a comparison between two things, typically for the purpose of explanation or clarification:
MONEY for a going concern (Country, Company, Family or Individual) is 'akin' to OXYGEN!
Mannkind had pulmonary disease, probably due to self-imposed hubris and the marketplace (with its nefarious players) limiting access to capital - MONEY/OXYGEN.
Finally, due to the revenue from Tyvaso DPI, its able to breath with a portable oxygen machine and is on its way to becoming a viable concern.
Healthy pulmonary system - looking forward to an ever-increasing supply of oxygen!
