In talking with a friend in the sales and marketing dept., companies do not like to provide launch date until after the sales folks are trained on the product. The reason being is that as soon as a launch date and or any product promotion is out, their sales people will immediately be bombarded with questions. The Sanofi sales folks will look like idiots if they can't answer technical questions and the launch will be a mess.
I think Sanofi said that sales training will be later this month so I guessing early Feb launch is very likely.

I think the shipping has started and training needs to be completed. Sounds like manufacturing is ahead of sched. I need to listen again.

The webcast could be heard much better using Windows media player vs Flash. At this point, you may have to wait a few hours to listen to it again. I missed the 1st 10 minutes, but I gather it was a tribute to AL. I used Windows. The first 10 min was Mr Mann keeped clearing his throat every min.And the slides was not in order. He sounded so bad! I hope he's not sick.

Unless the sales reps are absolute morons, the training will not take long, maybe 4 hours. That is, unless these reps are rookies and have never detailed an insulin product.

I'm pretty certain it was mentioned that their first orders have been received and are being shipped. Most likely they are getting Afrezza out to pharmacies, distribution centers, etc.
Training needs will be minimal, as Sanofi's Afrezza literature (printed and online) will be used as the primary tools for educating PCP and Endos. Nice to see the emphasis in this presentation was on the effectiveness of Afrezza rather than just the delivery method.

Sanofi interviewed their best reps currently selling other Diabetes meds. They chose the cream of the crop to sell Afrezza. Get ready for a blockbuster new medication that works.

My very inside sources tell me that Sanofi is so confident that Afrezza will sell itself, they are putting their least experienced sales staff on it, keeping their best sales personnel available for the tougher to market drugs. Caveat: my very inside sources are not always accurate.
