Fugacity, that's a darn good looking chart, I can't wait to see the 20 and 50 day moving average. Thanks, spiro I have a feeling your A1C results are going to be as eagerly anticipated as the nonfarm payroll data. These are all reading first thing in the morning before food, correct? The trend is so good, it makes one mad at the FDA for keeping this off the market needlessly for so long. Thanks so much for sharing.

Is it possible to use tiny little Mallomars for the data points?

dreamboatcruise,
Yep, after waking up, I walk straight to my den and stick my poor finger. i also check my BG 2 or 3 additional times during the remainder of the day. I don't share those numbers because they are at random times after a meal. Ok, I was just 100, 3 1/2 hours after a Shrimp Scampi dinner on a small amount of pasta. Dang it mnholdem, this stupid Afrezza is making me give up my Mallomars most of the time. It may turn Spiro into a reformed fatso. it's funny how accepting the fact that you are diabetic can change your eating habits. This is not good.

But that's contrary to what the diet-Nazi is saying in her attacks...that Afrezza will lead to gluttony.
Smart people like you will change their habits BUT will truly relish the fact that you can "cheat" every now and again without being sent to the hospital. This is VERY good. I find it's especially noble of you since you've undertaken years of exercise with little to show for it (in terms of a1C levels). I'm also glad to hear that you are still putting in the miles of walking.
Keep up the good work.
Holdem
PS - I almost wrote that I'm glad to hear you're still walking... that didn't sound quite right (chuckle).

Spiro I think you are finding that there is actually something you can do to control this disease. You are having positive reinforcement! That is very empowering. I think with a lot of chronic disease conditions, we just sort of give up trying when there are not good solutions. Keep up the good work!

Spiro Mr. Spiro, I was diagnosed as T2 in November, 2003. I suffered through finger sticks for about two weeks. A kind pharmacist suggested I try Freestyle strips for forearm testing. Now I use Accu Check Smartview with the same painless results. Virtually pain free now for eleven years. Usually I quite literally do not even feel anything with forearm testing.

I've already connected with Sam and we traded mobile numbers. Looking forward to his visit so we can go to lunch and have lechon Asado, arroz con frejoles negros y Maduros and for dessert Flan con dulce de leche. This will be a real test for Afrezza and betcha with Afrezza, this meal will not put a dent in his BG. Now you can understand why so many Latin's are T2 diabetics.

snip... For Spiro, it took over 6 years to face reality and accept the fact that he is Type 2 diabetic. Yes I have lost weight and yes I can turn my back more often on that chocolate covered marshmallow cookie. Finally, yes I can give Afrezza most of the credit for my recent success. Spiro here I'd never heard of Mallomars before this thread, but just had to see what all the excitement was about

alethea, Thanks, I will check them out. I have been using the so called painless ACCU-CHEK Multiclix system. it's not too bad, I pick a different finger everyday to torture. My pinky finger objects to this practice and is usually left out of the rotation.

Spiro,
I'm sorry to hear about your diagnosis. I wish you the very best health you can achieve and I hope you don't need to sacrifice any joie de vivre for it.
A big thanks for sharing your experiences with us - I may not respond often (or even login) but I do eagerly read every update. It is much appreciated!
I am quite surprised with how much 4U of Afrezza affects you as a T2. In theory if you have significant insulin resistance (which all T2's do) then I would expect you need at least 8U to cover even a small meal. Was there a specific reason to go for the 4U or was it chosen just to be cautious at the start?
It makes sense that your fasting glucose goes down somewhat as some stress on the pancreas is relieved, but if you are under-dosed then much of the stress may remain?
Do you still have a spike 1h to 1h30 after dosing?
Sorry if these questions are inappropriate - it's really none of my business, I'm just curious. If you do not wish to respond I will not take offence!
Thanks again, sbs

Spiro, Just followed you on Twitter, Scott. Since my wife is type 2 and on Metformin and Onglyza I'm doing my best to get her off the Oral's. At her last doctors appointment I loaded her up with Afrezza information for her doctor, and her doctor's comment was "Inhaled Insulin Had Already Been Tried Before". Really got P/O'd and I will personally be making an appointment with her doctor to discuss this view point. Didn't take one look at anything I sent in. I (We) won't give up until she is on Afrezza, with this doctor or a new one. Good Luck to you sir.
