Ok everyone. I've lost my mind. The pull of this low cost stock price is drawing me in. I've been discussing the purchase of more shares with my husband (who REALLY thinks I've lost my mind). The question is: how low does she go?
I can purchase Calls for $2 for 2017 at a price LOWER than the stock price right now. I can buy outright or create buy/sell options for 2017.
Again....am I delusional?

Buy outright and hold. My view is this stock is on sale at today's current price. I must disclose that I am very long on MannKind and can't see the forest from the trees. Read the user blogs and tweeter feeds and make the decision that is right for your risk tolerance. Can you afford to lose the investment if the product fails? I don't think it will fail but there are a lot of shorts betting against us.

I am watching right now. I bought 4 different times in the 5's. This could get lower.

Again....am I delusional? If you loan your shares through Fidelity, go for buying the shares. My vehicle of choice is selling Jan 2017 $5 puts and buying Jan 2017 $5 calls. Same as owning shares other than you don't get loan option and you get them at equiv of $4.27 (or a few cents lower if you try to not pay ask/bid on offer). My avg price is now just below $5.5, so I can average down at these levels. I've nibbled a bit this week. But it really is nibbling. I suspect we may still go lower before SNY marketing really kicks into gear (which I'm hoping is tied to ADA meeting). And no, you're not delusional. You can take that from me, lizards are intuitive in that way

I probably shouldn't have - seeing as how I am already overweight with the stuff - but I bought more shares today. It won't be long before these low prices are a thing of the past.

Anyone who is still holding any in a tax deferred account? Now would be the time to start considering the conversion to a Roth.

That's exactly what I did a few weeks ago with my traditional IRA. Since next spring I'll need to pay a one-time tax based on the value of the account on the day I converted it, I decided to take advantage now while the pps is depressed.
This is one area where "paper losses" resulted in a very real benefit of a tax break. Now that it's a ROTH, I won't have to pay capital gains when MNKD soars... um, whenever that happens.
The government places a limit of $6500 contributions to my ROTH each year, but once it's in there I can realize unlimited growth without having to pay taxes on it.

I'm going to keep adding to my 401k position as long as it's cheap.

I'm adding more shares today as well. It's already an overweight for me, but if you believe in something, you have to take the risk. Just make sure it's $$ you can afford to lose. This isn't a blue chip stock with a 26 year history of dividend increases. It's a speculative biotech stock that has an amazing product, but which is far from a guaranteed blockbuster

Again....am I delusional? So on days like today, I'm reminded of the term "manna from heaven" and ironically manna is actually Hebrew for the following (source wikipedia, see link below) : Manna (Hebrew: מָן) or al-Mann wa al-Salwa (Arabic: المَنّ و السلوى, Kurdish: gezo, Persian: گزانگبین), sometimes or archaically spelled mana, is an edible substance that, according to the Bible and the Quran,[1] God provided for the Israelites during their travels in the desert. and Lord knows we've been on a long journey through the desert so to speak...so Sue, tell your husband your just receiving more manna from heaven en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Manna

The manna, as I recall from the biblical account, had to be gathered up immediately before it disappeared.

Have no fear Sanofi' marketing of Afrezza is and will move at the "speed of a glacier" so there will be plenty of time to buy more shares!

The questions is how many Thousands of Manna from Heaven do I need? I still would like to DCA down some more. So tempting to eat another apple from the Garden of Eden.
