Buy outright and hold. My view is this stock is on sale at today's current price. I must disclose that I am very long on MannKind and can't see the forest from the trees. Read the user blogs and tweeter feeds and make the decision that is right for your risk tolerance. Can you afford to lose the investment if the product fails? I don't think it will fail but there are a lot of shorts betting against us. I still stand by my words of April 24, 2015. But it's very taxing to be a shareholder of this company. I hope the best is just ahead of us in the next 12 to 18 months.

kc, that is my hope also. I do think we will see an uptick in sale within the 1st and 2nd quarter and we should have a TS deal. If not we are in trouble.

When can SNY opt out? I am cautious of buying more if SNY might issue a withdraw... Scary. I have been averaging down and am about as long as I dare.

Thanks for the confirmation of what I remembered. I wish SNY would clear up their intentions. It would help a lot of folks to hang or not imhop.

Frankly, it is too late to get out if SNY announces withdrawal and it is too late to get in if they announce they are staying in. I'm holding.

The earliest date for that was January 1, 2016, as per the contract. Terminating the partnership would be a reportable event and MNKD would have to issue a 8-K. They have 4 business days to issue the 8-K. media.mofo.com/files/Uploads/Images/FAQ-Form-8-K.pdf

I've said it before, don't buy unless there is good news...game changing news. It doesn't matter how cheap it is, it can and probably will go lower. There will probably be a pop on good news, and that's an opportunity to trade MNKD. But until we see evidence that MannKind will survive there was is no reason to increase long positions.
It would probably make sense to have a Short position also just in case of a bankruptcy announcement, but I'm not there yet.
If you are itching to buy something, look at stocks that are up today (on a major sell off). Those stocks probably have more room to run. Longer term (this year) I'm looking at Apple but I'm looking for a good technical entry point. It's a China story, and I'm of the opinion that there is still significant sales growth there even if the manufacturing story isn't bright. The dividend should also help maintain the floor...
Best luck to everyone.

Dilution to raise capital is what you should be worried about... not FUD about SNY cancelling agreement. And sorry, they are unlikely to give any clear indication... so indeed this FUD doesn't necessarily die now, since they can theoretically cancel at any time after Jan 1. Undoubtedly the shorts will come up with some spin as to why SNY is waiting, though still planning, to back out.

Best luck to everyone. I bought a bit more today... did you sell me the shares short? I don't rule out further decline. I just consider the likelihood is some news to move higher before the finances start looking dire enough to push down significantly. We do have some money in the bank and another milestone MAY come before that runs out. Tax loss selling has finished and some that sold may look to repurchase.

Thanks for the confirmation of what I remembered. I wish SNY would clear up their intentions. It would help a lot of folks to hang or not imhop. SNY has never indicated that they were on the fence about Afrezza so why would they need to clear up their intentions? While I'd like to hear more from management at both MNKD and SNY regarding Afrezza's progress, I am not sitting at the edge of my seat expecting a proclamation SNY regarding the status of the relationship.

Yes, I can understand the argument that SNY is under no obligation to confirm their commitment to the partnership. After all, the partnership agreement is still in place and no one has said that's changed any. However, I can't understand why SNY refuses to say anything about the product itself. Wouldn't it be in their own interest to say something positive about Afrezza?? We seem to have a much lower status than other partners (eg. Regeneron and Zealand) when it comes to any promotional communications from SNY. Plus, any positive word from SNY would have an outsized benefit to MNKD while costing SNY practically nothing. Their silence ends up becoming a bigger (and negative) issue because its so curious and seemingly unnecessary.

The less the competition knows, the better. If you're worried, sell. I'm sitting on 20,000 shares, 5,000 of which I bought last week and I'm not going anywhere.
