Gosh, mannmade, that post made about nine hours before this was eloquent, but so very long, and my time is extremely valuable, so, I just don't know, I mean, I couldn't just skim over it, cuz I thought you might eventually get to something important or valuable, like your five favorite BBQ spots in the Valley, but, to my chagrin and regret, it didn't happen. This board serves a purpose for most (and that purpose varies from reader/poster to reader/poster), but apparently it does NOT serve an overall positive purpose for all, and that's perfectly fine and normal. So, greg, bringing the old, wise phrase into present day, "you vote with your fingers." If this is not a place where, on balance, you want to be, then don't beat yourself up. But don't expect all the posts or even most of the posts to be to your liking. As for Trend, he's been around a long time, he's a genuine guy, and I think I understand where he's coming from, irrespective of whether I agree with him or I side with logic and good judgment (sorry, Trend, just funnin' with you). As for Spiro, well, yeah, we all skim over his posts, don't we? I just like to look at the photos! Perhaps we should emphasize to our main points, so that busy people can speed read through this entire board in a fraction of the time.
After reading your multiple posts rambling on about lengthy diatribes by mannmade (and others, I presume) I can side with you on at least one of your points: we need more photos.

This board is definitely kinetically non-inferior to the Yahoo message board !

Spiro doesn't usually respond to posts based on nonsense. but Baba had to mention Spiro. If it were up to Spiro, he would have a board where nonsense threads could be placed. Spiro appreciates the efforts that Liane, BD and the other moderators make to keep this board sane. It is very hard to control the doctors, lawyers, nurses, engineers, chemists, teachers, firemen, bankers, CEO's and pharmacists, among others, that frequently post here. Now, it wouldn't be so hard if everyone posted like Silent Bob. He makes a couple of posts and then goes silent for 2 more years.
Spiro here, thank you Liane and BD for giving a lot of good people a place to share information and discuss MNKD

Well, this has been fun (insert wry sarcasm emoji here.) It's certainly a pity that increased understanding of the benefits and strengths of Afrezza hasn't directly translated, so far at least for longs, into financial gain.
If you measure the "utility" of the board in terms of how it promotes a greater understanding of MannKind (at least to whatever extent understanding it is possible), the science of Afrezza and the machinations of the biotech/pharmaceutical industries, then there's a lot of utility here.
If you measure it in terms of how the board has guided you to making profitable investment decisions, then up to this point we're not looking so hot, utalitarian-wise. Perhaps some of us signed on to compete in a sprint and weren't prepared to run a marathon. But here we are.

Note: this of limited utility

Thanks for the positive reinforcement savzak, dudley, and mnholdem. The mods here are not perfect, and many of us have full time jobs (that are not moderating a message board). It's a constant challenge balancing keeping the riff-raff out with excessive censoring. If you want the board to be more useful, you can go ahead and contribute something useful anytime you're ready. The quality of this board is dependent not so much on the moderators as the quality of our posters. lianne, I appreciate the work you guys put into this board. In addition to writing some articles for Seeking Alpha and engaging in their discussion threads, I also find this board interesting, mainly because of the characters around here who often inject levity and uniqueness. Yes, there are many tangents that go off into speculative wonderland. I speed read through them or ignore them completely. But, there are periods of time when I do learn from other posts. I also appreciate seeing the links to the SA articles that you guys post here. I wrote an article recently declined for publication at Seeking Alpha but I very much believe that my points raised in it have merit. Perhaps I should figure out how to publish it here? The main points: We are in a most difficult period because sales have been slow and may likely be slow for another four to six months. The first small number of early adopters jumped on board quickly but their endocrinologists refrained from prescribing Afrezza, with a wait and see approach, to other patients. That approach meant that doctors would wait at least six months to see the A1C reported from their first early adopters' A1C numbers. It takes three months to see one A1C result and six months to see two A1C results. It will take at least two results for most endocrinologists to acknowledge a trend. Therefore, since it has only been six months since Afrezza became available, we are only now reaching the point where doctors are beginning to recognize that Afrezza may really be superior to injected insulin. So, it could be the case that these endocrinologists will begin to prescribe Afrezza for additional patients. On top of this issue, I believe that Sanofi have invested most of their resources, so far, in trying to educate endocrinologists in the way that Afrezza works and why the inhaled insulin may be valuable for a select number of patients, for example, needle phobics, those who are poorly controlled, and those T1s who just want an improved living condition. It is a way to get Afrezza's toe in the door. Sanofi, intelligently, have refrained from promoting Afrezza on TV because it is much more important to get the nation's endocrinologists behind Afrezza and that can only happen when the doctors acquire experience with the drug. That is what is taking time. It's not wise to promote Afrezza on TV yet. Especially, if doctors, with a lack of understanding and experience with Afrezza, might only tell patients that they would not recommend using it. But, by Sanofi allowing doctors to gain experience, Sanofi is allowing time for doctors to learn that Afrezza is truly a superior new insulin. So, patience is what is needed in the investment community. That, and an ability to ignore the shorting arguments and stay focused on what we believe in: Al Mann, early adopters results, and our own internal personal integrity and inner strength. We may spend six months in these doldrums but Afrezza will become a successful drug because it is a superior insulin. In the meantime, if investors can add shares along the way, next year, YTD, I think we'll see that Afrezza is going to be gaining much improved marketshare. This is my attempt at being helpful and in making this discussion board valuable. I hope it is worthwhile. RS

No message board is perfect. But is there a better board for discussing MNKD than this one? Seriously, if anyone thinks there is, please post it and I'd like to check it out.

rob,
Your posts are always helpful. If you want to post the entire article, go right ahead. Preferably start a new thread. I think this board has better taste than SA.

rob, what's there to "figure out" about posting your full piece here? You create a thread and put the text into it. Of course, we can't compensate you. And, feel free to post such articles in the main forum for maximum visibility if you'd like.
[EDIT: As usual, liane and I post basically the same thing at the same time, lol]

Go see a therapist and soon, you are troubled. Principle Instigator me thinks. Seriously though, this board is a FAR CRY from the YMB trash and drivel. That board is like the jungle or wild west of message boards. You never really get a sense of who you are talking to. Most content is one two liner comments (or insults), the format for following or tracking a post is horrible. There is zero accountability, among a lot of other things i don't have time to list. This board on the other hand, yes has increased it's members exponentially over the past year and with it has brought obviously more people. The more people you have gathered together the more varied opinions, the greater range of education and understanding of the product and market and the increased chance for disagreement. Along w/ that increased chance for disagreeing is more opportunity for hostility and YMB behaviour. Yet for the most part this board, thanks to the people who frequent it and the mods is a safe haven for investors and posters. The content is organized, the rabble gets run out of town. Example, Some derp a few weeks ago made one FUD post and a few aggressive private posts to long time members and was gone in no time. I pick and chose what i read and skip over stuff that doesn't appear to have much value. We can't expect every post and or poster on here to follow our standards for posting, life just doesn't work that way. Also I'd like to add, this post has been personally very educational for me. I finally stopped and looked up the defn of FUD. Haha! I knew based on the context of what ever comment it was written in that it was negative typically baseless comments or articles but never knew what it stood for but now i do. <blush> Something must have pushed me over the edge and jolted my lazy fingers to go to google

I think poor reading comprehension may be the cause of many of these complaints. BD, I suggest the moderators ban all complex sentence structure. And dangling participles! Please, help us rid the world of dangling participles. After making good posts, with lots of useful information, some some end us being as clear as mud.

To each their own, I guess... as the membership count has gone up (closing in on 1700 now), surprise! We get more posts! So yes, there's quantity. However, I completely disagree about the quality. I think it's high as hell. I never cease to be amazed at the thoughtfulness that goes into so many of the posts I read here. There's little doubt in my mind, and I suspect not much in anyone else's, that members here pour their hearts out w/r/t how they're thinking/feeling about MNKD and Afrezza. As we are not privy to any of the byzantine business/financial dealing going on behind closed doors at MNKD and SFY, all anyone here can do is speculate, and we (the staff) do our best to create a conducive environment for such speculation. If honest, often out-of-the-box thinking is not your cup of tea, just go away, but don't smear the community here by characterizing the posting as having "little quality", because that's just wrong and condescending. I was planning on slipping quietly into the night but changed my mind because forums like this, with its 1700 members, do make a difference, sometimes a detrimental one........... With that said, I will relinquish my membership. Whew! I never thought he'd get around to it. How many useless words can one use to state that the public message board he post on is useless?

Notice the woman in the background of that photo, she seems to be clutching her arm to her chest in a gasp. It appears that she might be exclaiming, "omigosh, stop that man impersonating a pharmacist, he just robbed me at gunpoint and is making off with our Afrezza!"
