I want to make a comment that I think will not be received well from the community here. But I think the comment is based in rational thought and not emotion and therefore has merit.
I do not have any problem with what AF tweeted today. I do not have a problem with the timing or the words he used or any of it. He presented factual statements which at the time seemed to be the best and most current information.
As a "journalist" that "covers" MNKD, he is certainly going to be reporting on any updates that arise regarding the company. Especially ones that are potentially momentous such as this could have been. On this board we also have information-seekers who post just about any and everything that mentions Afrezza or MNKD. If any of these diligent posters found that article, I would imagine they would also be sharing the link and getting the information out. I saw on this board numerous established posters holding long positions sharing the same sources and translated article that he brought up.
I understand that he basically only reports on negative events and views almost all of the actions of MNKD as unfavorable. Whether he initiated or partook in private communications with sellers on the timing of his post, I cannot say. Unfortunately, the SEC is unlikely to figure this out either.

He is a "biotech analyst," and in that role, his tweets carry (rightly or wrongly) a different sort of impact on the market (I would propose, it's actually his dog whistle that does so). Today, he did not report on what he saw or read, he implied something much graver than reality with only a poorly translated account in Hebrew as his source (and how did he learn about that anyway?). Any analyst who has any readership at all, and is that irresponsible in their "reporting" should be fired on the spot...unless that action is what is expected of him. I suspect he'll get a nice tummy rub tonight from TST and he'll be back at it again tomorrow. I'm the least cynical person you can imagine, so this is not cynicism...this is simply the most reasonable interpretation of AF's actions that makes sense to me.

Any biotech journalist would have known that what he was reporting was of highly significant importance to the very survival of the company. Using only a poorly translated version of the information is in my mind not only extraordinarily bad journalism but liable and possibly more.

I am in complete agreement with almost everything you said and appreciate your well-stated remarks. Though I don't believe he is a "biotech analyst". I just went to The Street's page and he is listed as "Senior Columnist". Semantics really, and I do agree that his tweets and statements seem to carry weight with them though they probably are acting more like signals for coordinated moves. I did, however, just watch a Bloomberg interview with the SEC chair who said very plainly that the 'volume' (decibels) of yelling does not matter on how securities laws are violated. I don't think the public actions he performed today violated those securities laws. Whether his bosses and their cronies have been violating these...... well.....

What a jerk - turn it around and blame the honest investor instead of the devious "journalist" who fraudulently spun a rumor. My SEC complaint was filed last night.

I believe his postings were on his personal Twitter page, am I correct? If so, then any organization that employs him cannot be responsible for his actions and he would then be on his own should there be legal ramifications for his comments. If I am correct, he could become the sacrificial lamb (no pun intended) as an SEC trade between the big fish and SEC.

I filed mine yesterday. Even though the fraudulent story was from Feuerstein's Tweeter account, I filed the SEC complaint against both Feuerstein and TheStreet, including my estimated monetary "damage" the fallout caused to my derivatives, whose premiums fell sharply following AF's tweet. Of course, I expect the premiums to recover, but I chose to use the greatest $$$ impact. The SEC only let me chose one, so I chose my options contracts rather than the impact on my MNKD shares, as the contracts (premiums) represented the greatest "loss". If I can even cause somebody to raise an eyebrow at the SEC, I'll try...

So then, should something come of all this, he is on his own financially or otherwise. Wonder if posting with personal account was a mandated risk mitigation strategy.

He is just the public face that spews FUD for a whole other army. Accounts in his own name are probably not short MNKD, so he doesn't have any direct monetary gain from his comments. His "friends" or really his bosses' friends are the ones with real skin in the game. And he is their foolish puppet. Of course linking his actions to their movements would be trickier, more uncertain, and would take longer for the SEC to build a case. His methods, messages, and morals are pathetic.

Doesn't AF work for Jim Cramer? If you posted on this thread then you must watch this video in which Cramer explains how he has manipulated stock in the past by arranging for planted stories to come out. Did Cramer buy at $1.86 and then sell on today's rebound? Watch the video and YOU decide: www.youtube.com/watch?v=VMuEis3byY4Folks, after yesterday's events I ask you to consider if it would be best for you to please let the company's management tend to their business and please stop reacting to the FUD over and over again. Know this: We are in a period when shorts will control the storyline. How difficult do you think it is to get a story written in the Globe? How difficult do you think it is to get that story picked up in other outlets? I suspect that even "regulators' can be influenced. But, why are we invested in MannKind? Why are we still here? Again, this is going to take awhile. The process is ongoing. We all know this. Some of you showed some real grit and moxie on Tuesday. I am proud of you. You know who you are and I know you through what you wrote when the FUD was flying. I believe that anything and anyone that can be traced back to Cramer or anyone associated with Cramer cannot be trusted. This is my conviction. It is MY opinion. It will NEVER change. Watch Cramer's video and listen to his own words. Is this video Cramer's Mein Kampf? You decide. Hedge funds and so called "analysts" cannot be trusted either. They can easily have profit motives contrary to their public position. Trust in management to do their job because by trusting in them you remain anchored to what you originally believed in in the first place. You must remain patient. There is no other productive way now. You are here. I am here. We are here. Al is here. Matt is here. We are all together. Sounds like a Beatles song, but John Lennon was right. Understand where the power is coming from inside yourself. And, by doing so if you remain strong, you remain fixed upon what will see you through this experience. All will be well. I know it. You do too.

Aloha Rob: That's pretty much the same way I feel about the big picture. I appreciate you stating it so eloquently. Lovely.
