Rhetorical question, since nobody can really answer it, but WOW - look at that share price go!
It seems to me that this might be some short covering. We'll have to pay attention to the volume, I think. After all, it is only 20 cents.

no real resistance until $2. 1.80 doable.

no real resistance until $2. 1.80 doable. So far, the shorts have had very accurate business intelligence on MNKD. They've driven it down without fear. They can do the same in the opposite direction, and by now we all know they can reverse the trend in a heartbeat, should they so choose.

Now if that 10% rate in 2 hours would only persist for a few days, we'd all be in better moods...

At these levels, though, the day traders can reek havoc and create lots of volatility.

Great if you are day trading it and got in lower otherwise it's the typical 1 step forward 5 steps back. Another question is what happened to announcing the next TS candidate? Didn't management say they'd be announcing it by EOY? OR is that why Hakan stepped down because he was unable to get anyone to commit?

How time flies. A month ago (less one day) the price hit 1.76 during the day and (many) people were in hysterics. Today, a bounce to 1.70 is almost a cause for celebration!

mindovermatter... that EOY statement was immediately followed by a correction that it might be Q1.

If a large number of day traders get burned trying to stand in the way of 110M covering short shares, they deserve it.

8.8 million shares today. Average for the past 100 days is 6.04 million. Today 45% above the average per Scottrade data. I'll take it so long as it's in the right direction. However, I assume nothing based on today's action. Taking it one day at a time. Hoping for some follow through tomorrow.

Likely some limited short covering. It could also be the manipulators doing what they do. Probably shorted it for a couple days, covered, then traded the bounce for an easy 20% gain.

Yep not much to add this thread has it surrounded, this is likely the volleyball serve out to the other direction (for now). There is always the small pattern I've noticed on early script leaks to the privilege MM show upticks on good weeks. Guess this one will be validated or shot down in about 15 hours. :-)) But regardless nice to see the break to green after a week plus of red.

Fortunately even for us it works... we get more shares now with the same amount we used to buy months ago. And we get a lot more, unfortunately

We were down 25% in just the last three days. I would not read much into this jump other than a hope for better scripts tomorrow. Will see. Volume seems to indicate a bit of covering or perhaps that people like the stock at it's historical minimum. We have a long way to go before any jump puts a smile on my face.
