Some of what Sanofi was doing was just a dog and pony to make it look like a "good faith effort" to market Afrezza. The money they spent on print ads is chump change in the world of big pharma, not even a rounding error. Why Sanofi did this, we can all speculate. One thing for sure, no way DeSisto came on board if he didn't think there was an opportunity for him. With options on 8 million shares, each $10 in SP = $80mm in his pocket. Mannkind could make Duane a billionaire and don't laugh, this journey is far from over. Are you kidding me!?!? Only a miracle could rescue us Longs from $0.80! MannKind has no plan b because Al Mann has been on auto-pilot without a backup partnership. The PPS indicates today is the day of reckoning and it's game over. If other bio-pharma's *were interested* in Afrezza, MannKind's PPS would not be on the verge of non-existence!

Watching this ticker I cant help but think if MNKD has any powder for the 4:30 call this would look like the FCOJ scene at the end of Trading Places.

Duane DeSisto seems to be a great fit for MNKD at this stage. I hope this is not the end for MNKD the company, but I have no doubt that AFZ and the Ts Technology is much needed and will survive. Hopeful that the CC will restore communications with shareholders, bluntly communicate a road map to success, and an understanding of how MNKD will be financed going forward.
The initial deal that was set with SNY IMO was not a great one, but Al and company had much faith and DD vested in the deal at the time with Viehbacher at the helm. Unfortunately, SNY became a different company after Viehbacher was removed. (One day we will discover whether Viehbacher was released bc of his belief and marketing strategy for MNKD.) I've always been suspect of the timing of Viebacher's firing in relation to the MNKD deal not to mention the ambigous reasons given by SNY for his departure.
SNY should expect a massive law suit coming their way by MNKD. There was no roll out. There was no DTC TV ads. There was no mention of AFZ in their conference calls.
This will cause much damage to SNY in the long run. SNY did not promote/market AFZ in good faith.
SNY is currently being sued for over 700 Million for stalling on MS drug amongst many other allegations. MNKD needs time and money. They will find a way IMO.

Holding off on drawing conclusions until the call today. And to be honest, I have done some averaging down today; cheap bet in the scheme of things.

The reasons for his firing are relatively well understood and have been discussed by many very very often. Afrezza was never once mentioned and is but an imcredibly small footnote in his time at Sanofi. The center of the universe is not Mannkind...

Looks like 1/4 of the outstanding shorts covered...and there's still four more hours of trading. Think the whole short float gets covered by eod? If they don't cover now - they are nuts. IMO

If you had, you would be no where near giving up on Mannkind today. But you haven't so hence, your comment.

I have built a company from the ground up and I clearly remember the day our biggest customer (80% of our revenue) severed ties with us because we refused to cut our prices 20% to match what China was quoting.
We survived. Yes, I had to close a plant and layoff 60% of my workforce in the remaining plant, but it took less than two years to replace that business.
I have no plans to give up on MannKind Corporation or their technology. Not a chance.
To quote my good friend rockstarrick, "I will sell when Al sells".

Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor??? (For young 'uns and literalists, Animal House ref. Don't write in.)
