Folks and my fellow longs, the writing is on the wall. You don't fall 33% premarket without some massively bad news. I think MannKind (more importantly diabetics) is screwed. Well I guess this is the day of reckoning. Special thanks to those who tried to paint a positive picture during MannKind's constant downward spiral for me. I cannot believe I thought for a moment MannKind might make a difference around the world with Afrezza or future Technosphere applications. Damn...what the hell was I thinking? I'm going to vomit now from this nervous nausea (really).

I am shocked! Everything I was saying was honest and direct from Sanofi reps. I promise they had know idea as well. I hope and pray this is not game over and a new partner will come soon! Again, I'm shocked like everyone else!
Always mannkind long!

Game isn't over but but when your starting QB is taken out because he can't compete a pass and has thrown 7 ints and your RB is out because he broke his leg and your two starting wide outs are out due to concussions and your offensive line is comprised of 3rd stringers and you are down 49-0, things don't exactly look so great. MNKD is on life support right now.

The Navy Midshipmen are my college FB team, 4 years ago, when the QB was injured a little known freshman quarterback came in to take over the game. Not only did he win, he stayed in as QB and crushed every record for running quarterbacks EVER. And we just hired a QB that has some positive experience with new technology! It is always darkest before the dawn.

Mannkind is in trouble whether you want to believe it or not. The new CEO better hope they can get a partner to fill those french fuques shoes fast.

Remember when things looked bleak when Drew Bledsoe got hurt and a young unknown named Tom Brady came in to the huddle?!

MNKD is in trouble. Looks very much like a football game to me! Navy ended up in the top 25. Who cares where they were before this year? No one will care where MNKD is when they hit $29.17 a year from now (my guess from a previous post )

Yes it is and that is why there are not a lot of billionaires roaming the planet. If it was easy...

I just picked up another 2000 shares for under $1 Not any dumber than the day i bought it for $7. And another $2000 lost is a drop in the bucket compared to paper loss currently. MNKD themselves couldn't do any worse than SNY lets be honest. The cash flow is concerning but there is NO WAY a new CEO comes in on a day this was announced without knowledge of it. I'm not freaking out about it. I just wish i knew if it was the Kool Aid or the connecting dots or just stupidity. Time will tell.

This announcement is stunning, and a key question is was the decision initiated by SNY, mutual or did MNKD decide to terminate? We will find out soon enough.
A tip of the hat to shorts who called this. I confess I am guilty of blind optimism, choosing to believe that despite the signals, there were other things happening in the background that might explain the non-performance. Sometimes it really is as simple as incompetence. Or, perhaps the leadership change at SNY elected to change directions. I did think it was mysterious when SNY announced their strategic plan without mentioning Afrezza. At some point they decided the ROI wasn't worth the effort, and put lackluster effort into their legal obligation, which explains the glacial growth in scripts. As someone observed, word of mouth alone could have accounted for 20% of the prescription growth.
Clearly, MNKD will need new partners for this and for the development of the other Technosphere possibilities. Unfortunately, their bargaining strength is in their technology and patents and weakened by the failed effort with SNY. Let's hope the new CEO can right the ship and create a game plan that consists of imagination, moxie and bargaining skill. All is not lost yet, so let's pray that bankruptcy is not in the game plan. This is a good, effective product and needs to be on the market; and investors who helped get it to commercialization should not be thrown under the bus so that the immoral wolves of Wall Street can feed their greedy, hedonistic egos and bottomless appetites for creature comforts.
No doubt most of us will be listening to the conference call with close attention. As it stands, list this one under the column heading: "Companies screwed by the FDA and lax securities legislation/regulation." The entry should be footnoted with a qualifier: "and failed business execution."
Good luck to all longs. Think the flight of the phoenix and put on your rally caps.
