I put these all in a table. Some low population states are omitted while high population states have been set up with multiple regions. Florida has the most with 5 Area Business Managers, while CA, NY, PA, TX etc. have 4 ABMs.
It appears that they're setting up blanket coverage for the lower 48 and Puerto Rico.
I'm delighted to see that they included Minnesota.

That will be over 60 new employees. Does MNKD have the loot to cover that big pay role?

Actually, that link brings up 60 MannKind jobs and one non-MannKind job. A better filter is "MannKind" which brings up 60 MannKind jobs, period.

That will be over 60 new employees. Does MNKD have the loot to cover that big pay role? with 2/3 of the profit coming back to mnkd for afrezza sales; would it be better to not market? I find this comment absurd.

Mannkind should also look into setting up Hubs in Walmarts and CVS's. I say this because when I resided in El Paso Texas during 2012 through 2013, it was very obvious while shopping at a Super Walmart each week, I observed many individuals (mostly overweight) in wheel chairs, individuals using canes, and some who were borderline (barely walking on their own). I've never seen nothing like this throughout the 38 states and all the years that I have traveled. I made a comment to the pharmacist (because of the longs lines), you must do a lot of business here, she replied yes... it's mostly diabetics.
This is what prompted me from investing in technology stocks and into diabetic stocks, (MNKD Only).
This is great news for Mannkind/ABMs, it's a start in the right direction but it should not stop at ABM... go all out with the addition of Hubs.

Longinvstr: "To me, logic dictates that cost drove retention levels. When free samples and Rx discount cards were exhausted, patients moved on (or back) to the economical choice. That's rational. MNKD will fix price and that will cure the insurance coverage gap. Logic points to that as the remedy for any retention issues."
Very good point. I wonder how manybof the alleged 2/3 that dropped Afrezza will quickly return when affordable pricing comes along. Hopefully their contact information stored by MNKD somewhere.

This is fantastic news and very impressive stuff. Mahalo to all for posting this. Most excellent! I'm going to add to my position right now. We may not see results from this till later this year, but it's coming. IMO, we're finally turning the corner; Sanofi is firmly in the rearview mirror, and we control our own destiny.
IMO, the more I think about it, the more I realize that Sanofi never saw us as a partner, but instead as a direct threat that would cannibalize their own in-house, diabetic medicines. Everything changed with them when the new CEO came on board; Sanofi overpriced Afrezza on purpose to prevent broad based insurance coverage, did very limited/bare bone marketing by contract, and instructed their sales reps to make Afrezza a low-priority on their calls.
This begs the question why? IMO it was because Sanofi never was happy with a 65/35% split on the profits, and with a successful launch of Afrezza, MNKD share price would soar to compete with the SNY share price. That scared the bejeebees out of Sanofi. How would a SNY shareholder feel if that happened? IMO Sanofi tried to bankrupt MNKD and failed. And now today, we're still here; free, independent, on our way to future profitability, and will greatly help millions of diabetics worldwide. I never stopped believing in the blockbuster potential of Afrezza having a global impact. This drug will change the way diabetics relate to their disease, including me. Aloha.

Most of the 292 jobs you linked to above have nothing to do with MannKind. However, when I filtered for Nurse Educator Afrezza I found eleven jobs; in Pittsburgh, Charlotte, Tampa/Orlando, Miami, New York City, Dallas, Nashville, Birmingham, Chicago, Los Angeles, and San Francisco. And I suspect that "multiple locations" means that the employee will cover multiple locations (such as Tampa and Orlando), not that there will be multiple employees.
