Sorry moderators, I didn't see the other "short interest discussion" thread. You can combine these if you want.

How can you all be happy about declining short interest? Less short shares, less chance of a short squeeze.

"How can you all be happy about declining short interest? Less short shares, less chance of a short squeeze."
It's the concommitant negative news articles though by the asscociated shorts that keep new investors and even many current shareholders away from buying.

And how remarkably, share price has gone down during the same period ....

I think it is time to say 'Kudos' to the organized shorts. They really know how to play this game. All of us who dreamt of a short squeeze last year (including me) and this year (including me) are a bunch of retail amateurs. The stock price will certainly go up but they well land this eagle soft and easy.

Fine by me, if you're correct that "the stock price will certainly go up."

I would think 97M shares shorted still provides plenty of opportunity for a squeeze. Not clear to me though that will happen, it appears that an orderly exit of the smart shorts has already started. Can only hope it gets a little less orderly.

Can only hope it gets a little less orderly. One hand washes the other. The investors that just bought the shares are offloading them and the shorts are picking them up. The investors want them off their books but not so fast that the price drops materially, and the shorts are buying but not so fast that they push the price up.

When is the short data from? I honestly would rather be at peak short interest for a better squeeze but 97 million isn't anything to slouch about.

Some shorters are very smart. That's why they able to take that risk. It's actually a good sign that MNKD is less likely to go bk.

Its very interesting that there are no short shares available to me through Fidelity. Can others check with their broker to see if shares are available? I really want to know if there is cherry picking for these shares.

Aged- are you saying the investors that recently bought the shares for $1.03 are selling them to the shorts for less than the $1.03 they paid for them? I don't think the fees the investors were paid for the brokerage would offset the losses from the sales of the shares. I guess I'm missing something here. In other words, how are the recent investors from the Rodman and Renshaw deal making money now by unloading for less than $1.03 that they paid?
