That is very frustrating! I certainly was not expecting that. While I acknowledge that none of us on this mb know exactly what is going on behind the scenes (with the exception of Mike C) but Dr. Combs displayed enthusiasm around AFREZZA and to not tap that resource and the chain reaction of physician contacts to him that would follow, appears to be a missed opportunity. It makes one wonder how many others are out there that are interested in AFREZZA and are not being followed up with. We cannot afford to do this. I am tired of hearing peoples rationale of another negative event/result. We heard enough excuses while under Sanofi's control. (And even I tried to accept them at that time) But look where we ended up with them. I have owned this stock for almost eight years. A very grueling eight years. As we all know, this is a do or die launch! Every stone needs turned, every lead need a follow up, any opportunity for exposure of what AFREZZA can do for a Diabetic needs the full attention that it deserves! Come on fellas, complete Alfred Manns vision! Make AFREZZA a household name! As it is worthy. No more excuses, Lets see some results! Positive results! I have talked directly to Matt, but it was months ago. In all honesty, none of what I wrote should be news to them! (At least I hope that its not) Also, to respond to another comment... IMHO, it would not be a desperate move for MNKD management to dispatch someone to contact Dr. Combs at some level. Maybe not to set up a full fledged conference right away, but a follow up, nonetheless, to keep that interest alive. Every lead needs a follow up! It is imperative that AFREZZA gets into the hands of those that can prescribe it to those that need it. Like I said before, the chain reaction of this occurence will pay us back tremendously! The snowball effect...It needs to keep growing! It is do or die, for MNKD and for AFREZZA! Not to mention the patients. It needs to be an all out effort! And yes, patience is a virtue, and I am trying to be reasonable, but I will be honest, eight years of this has spent most of my patience. But I still believe in the technology and the promise of AFREZZA and TECHNOSPHERE, and I'm in too deep to bail now anyway! GLT MNKD and to all MNKD LONGS! |

Some are perpetually positive that no matter what the numbers display, they remain blind to the facts. And one fact right now is the numbers are bad. I've heard to many excuses during the Sanofi era and the 2.0 era I really don't know where to start. Soft lauch, short week, extended holiday, Endos don't prescribe from Jan to Dec, cold weather, too much snow, too hot outside, local CVS had a power outage...etc. A few weeks might not represent an accurate trend. But it's still a trend. From the dozen or so diabetics that I know, none have heard anything from their endos about Afrezza. /End rant. Full disclosure-The numbers are hideous and it will take a miracle to get this company to succeed. I currently do not own any shares. I watch daily in hopes that on these Fridays there is a massive over reaction to the scripts (before its too late) but they have not yet come. I have lost a lost of money on this stock and I am quite critical of the company. I have been able to make a lot of money that I lost trading the stock. However I will not hold this stock until I see a turn of the tide. I am trying to be reasonable in the notion that it will take time for scripts to increase, and that MNKD should not be deviating from their strategy for a Twitter lead. |

The conference this thread is about is not yet a missed opportunity. It will be a missed opportunity if the conference comes and goes without participation by MNKD. Until then, I'm expecting that management will get on it. It's not too late. Thank you! I agree:-) Thanks so much! sports |

More good news:-) A consultant with MNKD who had been interduced to Dr. Combs through E-mail by me started talking on the phone and ended up agreeing on a time to get together. Dr. Combs told me he was very impressed with the man. That he was passionate about Afrezza and very articulate! Thursday morning Dr. Combs came into the gym and we did cardio together. He was excited. He said he had his first person he could put on Afrezza! ( Think ten times Dr.Oz! ) Then he asked what time the man from MNKD was coming Friday. I told him that he was coming early and getting a work-out in with me, and then was meeting with Dr. Rahman. www.ranchofamilymed.com/our-staff/providers/dr-maisara-rahman/Walt said, great! Tell him I'll meet him on the courts at 8:00 and will get a game of hoops in. I'm thinking.. this is going to be awesome! More time to talk about Afrezza. It all worked out as planned:-) They played hoops for about 10 min and then Walt, his brother, Walts CEO of Rancho Medical were all in a hurdle talking and hearing about the wonders of TS and Afrezza. I was with my client Tom who has the teens on Afrezza so we were all there. As Walts CEO ( Josh Snow) was leaving I ran and got my dreamboat I keep in my bag to show people. I caught up with him and demonstrated how to load it and then took a long deep breath in... held it for 3 seconds and blew it out. And said, It's just freedom! He's eyes got as big as saucers, I've never been able to hold this mans attention for so long. I told him about Tom's kids and that whole story. He was mesmerized! And just said. This is going to be big! Being very encouraged by that I then went and showed my boss who was teaching a cross fit class to a bunch of rich business men. He stopped the class and they all watched as I showed them the dreamboat. Then they started asking me about MNKD and SNY and the story of what happened. One said, this is ground floor stuff! What's the ticker? In the mean time the consultant is still talking to Walt. Then later in the day he met with Dr. Rahman and gave her a presentation on Afrezza. She is the one who is in charge of the diabetic seminar. Which has been postponed a month. ( Walt has been flying back and forth to Haiti ) An early adapter called in and gave his testimony to Dr. Rahman. She was very impressed and plans for a presentation at the seminar are forthcoming:-)). Stay-tuned |
