Nothing is going to move sales until we start a series of hard hitting advertisements. The pic of the kid that looks like a human pin cushion would be excellent. Look it is a new ballgame and consumers will have to drive demand the a'hole endo's will not, face it and move on. The ads will have to be made with the consumer in mind it should not be rocket science. Take the 30 million loan available and get started with the ads. Concentrate on selected areas and have sales dept follow up. The time is now. Management you are killing us using your old school methods they don't work get moving now. Fldave

Fldave Hopefully it doesn't require some model of advertising that wouldn't get approved by FDA. According to management they already have variant ad concepts to discuss with FDA. Given that there have been no "old school" adverts to date, what makes you think the traditional model for drug ads allowed by FDA would not work as well for Afrezza as for other drugs? There were already a couple of concepts we've seen. The short videos with people inhaling at restaurant and outdoors, etc. Also, the "insulin" and "outsulin" characters. Could be something entirely different. I imagine they are in process of debating with FDA over what they can show regarding PK/PD and how to describe it.

Mannkind does not need to run ads by fda nor do they need approval by fda to begin advertising. Forget the fda run the ads management should know what they can or can't say.

I believe that FLDAVE is talking moreso about MNKD following the traditional ways of releasing advertisements as opposed to the content of the advertisements and I would agree, MNKD needs to get into the ears of consumers as opposed to the Endos. Create the buzz, and the rest will follow.

I wish you were correct, however the branch of the FDA that oversees drug Advertisements is The Office of Prescription Drug Promotions OPDP. To what extent they oversee is anybody's guess, but I believe anything like a TV Commercial would need the ok of that FDA branch. FYI Good Luck

Putting aside advertising for Afrezza, Mannkind should also start to build up brand awareness. FDA approval is not need to promote the history of your company or the goals your company is trying to achieve. If people can get interested in the Mannkind the company maybe they will seek to learn more about the products Mannkind offers. $10 million a month is alot of money spent for there not to have been more advertising done. It is very bad that Afrezza currently is only a $10 million/year product (Mike's statement from last call). Prescription Drug Advertising: Questions and Answers

Correct, FDA is currently reviewing the ad MNKD plans on running. I believe, final approval will depend on the new label.

It's been awhile since this username has appeared. You've made some good calls in the past avi8torslc including predicting this long PPS slide, but I must confess that I have always thought that following the "8" with a "t" in your username was redundant, a typographical stutter. Welcome to ProBoards-MNKD.

I posted about the FDA crack down on Sanofi's TV commercial recently. Obviously, if one is required to get the OK from the FDA prior to TV land then that is a load of BS because it simply is not true. The FDA has never said this. What is true, is that MannKind is once again taking the ethical route, and making sure what they have is OK with the FDA before they release it to the public. Last thing they want is being labeled a parasitic low-life like Sanofi.
