"Slow and Steady" worked when Al was around to foot the bill. I'm looking for a "marketing frenzy" and an "incredible urgency". All "Slow and Steady" will get us is bankruptcy. The "hare" also had an incredible urgency and was frantic in nature.

I think Charles Mattocks "gets it" concerning the corruption that is going on, and he has found himself an ethical company that jives with his personal beliefs and probably is thankful there is an non-invasive insulin therapy diabetics can take. He probably sees how this could be a great solution for those that are noncompliant with their current therapy, and it has the potential to be a solution for other things. I am personally enjoying his Afrezza advocacy on social media (Twitter). Despite what some think, what actually really lacks not only in the diabetes space, but in general, is promoting healthy lifestyle choices and proper education. Like really driving it in. What he is doing is trying to promote healthy balanceāhelping restore homeostasis in the body. Everyone could learn something from this show, not just diabetics.

The problem is that it involves lifestyle change and maintaining a lifestyle change is difficult for most people.

People can not change -----> go directly to pharmaceutical drugs so they do not have to change. But only pharmaceutical drugs! We are a society with stories. Do you know how many people attend AA meetings sober for years? Can't change? Not only do they change, they talk about it.

agedhippie there will always be a percentage of the population that takes the path of 'least resistance' (drugs) to counter poor lifestyle choices; and others that try to follow a healthy lifestyle. Afrezza works with both populations. Expect to hear good things!

I'm so happy lifestyle change is being promoted in this show... and I certainly hope that Afrezza will be promoted as well... If people watch this show and change even one thing in their lives for the better as a result, that is success... I am going to ask my dad to watch this... it will be good for him ..
Also, Afrezza gives people choices.... the choice to not be perfect .. to live a more normal life.. living a healthy lifestyle is great.. but choosing to reward yourself with pizza or a cookie on occasion is good too... that's normal .. MOST people don't live perfect lives... nor should someone with diabetes have to be so constrained... Afrezza is freedom ...
My dads advisor tells him he should never eat a cookie without insulin to cover it ... so then he has to take more subq which makes him gain weight.. and feel lethargic ... Ive seen the difference ... subq is not healthy .. not even close to normal .. I appreciate that weve had the subq option.. but now we have something way better ..
I am excited for this show to come out.. and I'm proud of MNKD for sponsoring it .... whether or not it has an impact on our sales remains to be seen.. I surely hope it does and in time ...

It might take more than one. It took me over a year to lose over 100 pounds. Then I had to learn how to keep it off. If you give people the right tools and they want that change they will do it. Afrezza will help them live a more active lifestyle.

I have a friend who is a doctor in one of the larger cities in the UK and they have given up on health and diet for pre-diabetics because so few would stick to it. The uptake rate was good, but the drop-out rate was over 90% in the first six months. Now they just skip diet and exercise unless the person specifically asks for options. Apparently that is pretty much universal amongst all the doctors in that city (not sure about elsewhere). I agree that people can change, but they have to want to and have to have the resolution which is why AA or therapy works in those cases (and for the third who do it solo). It's a self-selected group.

The key phase there is " ...and they want that change they will do it". The problem for Type 2 is that in the early stages there is no visible penalty for non-compliance so the drive tends to be weaker - then the doctor says you can change your lifestyle, give up white foods, and exercise ...or... you can take this pill once a day. No prizes for guessing the winner.

I think that's a fair question . No it doesn't affect me like that. I have been the same weight +/- a couple of pounds forever (normal BMI) and lethargy isn't an issue beyond my usual procrastination I am quite prepared to believe that it does affect some people like that though. I probably know one person who may have those issues, but you don't really like to ask... The rest all seem to be unaffected as far as I can see. The usual provisos apply - if you eat junk and don't exercise you may be lethargic and gain weight just like non-diabetics. The issue with diabetes and treatment is that it is absolutely not one size fits all, and that is something the medical world really struggles with. They have this idea that if it produces a specific result in a person that it will produce that same result in everyone - it doesn't work that way. Diabetes is a broken glucose metabolism, and like an iceberg the glucose levels are the bit sticking above the water but there is still all the rest. Diabetics are by no means immune from this error either and can become quite evangelistic about treatments which is why diabetics tend to tune out advice on things like social media (because if it works for you why wouldn't you want to spread the message and help everyone else?)
