Thanks for the various comments on the above. I use Schwab. The platforms available for a UK investor to trade direct in the US options market or out of hours trades on line cost-effectively without having complex issues over tax domicile are rather limited so I am stuck with the Schwab platform I think, realistically. Looks like they take the mid point between bid and ask for the option price rather than last trade or anything else. Hence if thinly traded or someone posts a silly bid or ask the apparent price presumably fluctuates wildly.
Glad to see the big % price rises at present: comes a week too late for me since essentially all my investment bar a tiny sum was in the long calls expired worthless on 19/1/18.... if it now hits $6 I will be really frustrated! Ah well, re-building position now....

How much More is Mannkind Corporation worth since the January Options expiration a couple days ago? Do we include all of the shares or just the shares issued? Someone help me with the math; my abacus is broken. Options have no effect on the number of outstanding shares whatsoever. |

Well, we know now that it didn't shoot up yesterday because of leaked scripts numbers. Darn it! agreed. the premarket trading volume high for MNKD shares. Many Friday's there have been no premarket trades. 227,423 shares have traded. this is not the run of the mill Friday trading. Buy every dip. |

Investors were punked by Adam Fuerstein's comment on Biogen yesterday. didn't know that many people hung on his words. but it shows how one person can manipulate the market with one tweet. The SEC should be sent that tweet but we all know they don't even know which end is up.

Amyris, Inc. (AMRS) gained 23 cents, or 4.65%, to 5.18, on 51 667,065 shares traded on Thursday. I like its inverse head-and-shoulder, the rounded bottom, and then it popped a little bit. I think it has a chance to go further. If it continues and gets to 5.50, the targets are in the 6 1/2-7 range.
CRISPR Therapeutics AG (CRSP) had a long base, a strong surge, a little bit of a plug, a pop, pullback, and then boom, it jumped 2.99, or 8%, to 4045, on 915,942 shares traded. In a very sharp angle, it has gone from 17 in mid-December to 40, in just three weeks. That’s a very strong move, and it’s also overbought short-term. If it does run, 50 is the target.
MannKind Corporation (MNKD) had a huge pop of 1.11, or 41%, to 3.80, on 39 million shares traded on Thursday. You can see on the chart that it was in a very narrow coil when it popped and went through 2 layers of prior highs and resistance. For me, I’m looking for a move to 4 1/2, maybe as early as Friday. The swing target, though, is 7.00. This could be very interesting. If it gets momentum like it had previously, it will fly upwards.
Sarepta Therapeutics, Inc. (SRPT) advanced 1.83, or 2.78%, to 67.61, on 1.9 million shares traded on Thursday, reaching another new multi-year high. This is the highest level this stock has reached in 16 years. A 16-year high, folks. If it takes of, it will be up around 81, which is my next target.
On the long side, stocks included Abeona Therapeutics Inc. (ABEO), Adverum Biotechnologies, Inc. (ADVM), Amyris, Inc. (AMRS), Catalyst Biosciences, Inc. (CBIO), Century Aluminum Co. (CENX), California Resources Corporation (CRC), CRISPR Therapeutics AG (CRSP), GRIDSUM HOLDING INC. (GSUM), Harvard Bioscience, Inc. (HBIO), Iovance Biotherapeutics, Inc. (IOVA), ITUS Corporation (ITUS), Kopin Corporation (KOPN), MannKind Corporation (MNKD), Sarepta Therapeutics, Inc. (SRPT), Viking Therapeutics, Inc. (VKTX), and W&T Offshore Inc. (WTI).

The only thing that matters is sales growth and subsequent profits. Improved label helps, improved formulary helps but sales growth trajectory needs to be such to demonstrate the product is commercially viable. So far, the revenue stream has not demonstrated that. I've been at it for nearly 10 years. Time is no longer Mannkind's friend. The company can raise $$ and limp along but the window to make Afrezza commercially viable in the United States is closing. There needs to be a big uptick in revenue in the next few months. $450K a week or so in revenue isn't even close. They need to get revenue north of $100mm this year in the US and I have not seen anything to demonstrate this will happen. It could change and start a strong ramp but there are only so many tomorrows.
