Volume has really dried up, as of yesterday largest clearing firm had no stock to lend (and yes I saw the loan rate thread), with volatility at extreme quiet levels and end of year approaching, the crickets you hear, (paint drying you see, grass growing, etc.) could soon be running when the noise hits looking forward to '18 Ahem.. and this does mean? Essentially that this has been consolidating at this level for quite some time with relatively light volume. Considering the run-up on extreme volume and subsequent pull back and consolidation IMO it is setting up for it's next leg up. Short interest was at a record level as of 11/30, I suspect that hasn't changed much to this point. The short interest has continued to rise while the s/p has settled at a base in the $3.00 area. I believe fundamentals and s/p will improve (and the supply is way imbalanced should that happen) so I guess you can say I'm "intrinsically bullish" that things will be a lot nosier heading into and throughout the new year

The Libre will be fine for a lot of the T2 population and it will be affordable for many without insurance if necessary. I know the alarm on Dexcom's CGM is important for T1's regarding the overnight situation but the last thing for a lot of T2's to worry about is going low overnight on Afrezza, just the opposite with their livers producing sugars while their sleeping for those higher fasting BG readings in the am. There is also the benefit of not having the cost of the strips, etc. as well and not having to carry meters and the equipment around. More importantly is compliance, call me a big wuss but those finger pricks suck all day long. Funny thing on a side note, Spiro took a pack of cartridges out and showed me how he rounded the edges on the blister pack to eliminate the edges being an annoyance while in pants pocket....I said I already just pop them out and keep them in my pocket individually...I had to laugh to be honest as that was the only thing that originally bothered me as well so that was solved pretty quickly, imagine that being the ONLY thing that bothers some lol...can't wait for the email letting me know my Libre is ready at the pharmacy

Perhaps your thread should be renamed to "Advertising Ideas". Not sure if a similar thread already exists tho That is a great idea, but I have been saying this for some time now. Maybe I can rename it or maybe...just maybe.....Mike will read it and say, "that is a great idea!" Dilly!! Dilly!!

Also, regarding using the auto rebate analogy to one for drugs and health insurers is ludicrous IMO, buying a car and saving money is one thing, getting denied a drug that could save your life and limbs is quite another. Speaking of analogies, this reminds me of SO's answer where he said that ARNA's current trials and coming out with a treatment for PAH compared to MNKD coming out with one is like Budweiser compared to starting a micro brewery start-up....if he understood that ARNA is going through trials for a new drug, compared to MNKD which already has had favorable talks with the FDA on an inhalable version of a drug already on the market he may not have said it the way he did. In SO's article yesterday regarding the vote, I asked him if he was still long ARNA to which he replied he was. I asked his opinion if there were parallels with ARNA and MNKD as in his July article he wrote about his feelings of ARNA's decision to dilute through a secondary offering. His response was interesting to the points I made in the query. When you realize that ARNA went and let their only drug go to the partner they were with for some royalties, it makes me feel like MNKD having a second drug with a growing sales force would not quite be a micro brewery to a Budweiser type situation. For those that want you can read the question and response in SO's article seekingalpha.com/article/4131508-mannkind-shareholder-vote-shares-center-stage but it also goes into the question of his owning ARNA as a potential conflict of interest in not being biased on writing about MNKD as a potential competitor with respect to treating PAH.

in the scripts thread which non members don't get access to, I thought I would put here. Just to give you the proper context, this was a response to Matt regarding his response to boca on her anti-trust statement regarding the rebates that Novo is giving UHC to blackball Afrezza: 8 minutes ago ReplyQuote Edit Post Options Post by joeypotsandpans on 8 minutes ago matt Avatar 3 hours ago matt said: boca1girl Avatar Nov 21, 2017 at 6:14am boca1girl said: MNKD needs to file a complaint with the Federal Trade Commision (FTC) on the anti-competitive pricing practices in the drug industry. I hope Bernie Sanders sees this article and makes a public stink about it. I don’t agree with many of Bernie’s positions, but he is “right on” with regards to dirty drug pricing practices. Matt's response to Boca: This has been to federal court, including the court of appeals, on previous occasions. The ruling was that if the rebate is a unilateral offer by the manufacturer to the purchaser (essentially the PBM) then the price discount in exchange for greater market share is entirely legal. A rebate does not require the purchaser to do to anything; it is simply an extra price discount if they do the desired act. For those interested, the seminal case in this area is White and White Inc v. American Hospital Supply Corp (723 F. 2d 495). You can bet all the PBMs and drug company lawyers have read the case many times. You can think of it in terms of automobiles; if a consumer makes a qualifying purchase then Ford will give an extra $1,500 cash back on the purchase of a new mini-van but they will give nothing if the consumer buys a Chevy instead. The consumer is free to buy the Chevy but can save a bit of cash on the Ford, or the consumer can buy no new car at all. This is a unilateral offer by Ford that requires no action by any consumer and thus it is legal. The issue is not one of pricing or bundling product as that ship sailed long ago. The issue is whether a PBM should be legally obligated to offer every drug approved by FDA on similar terms, or whether they should be free to substitute equivalent products or charge extra, perhaps a lot extra, for a non-preferred brand. Afrezza has not been recognized by the FDA as anything fundamentally different from a rapid acting insulin, and until that changes it will be difficult to enforce a requirement that a PBM supply it at all as the FDA and all the states permit free substitution of generic drugs as equivalent medications. That distinction was a stake with the recent label change request for an "ultrarapid" designation, but that didn't happen. My response to Matt's response: That doesn't preclude patients from going after UHC for denied benefits, apparently they have a history of doing so, www.modernhealthcare.com/article/20160920/NEWS/160929989 bad faith insurance is a whole different story than taking bribes or so called rebates as they term it from manufacturers topclassactions.com/lawsuit-settlements/lawsuit-news/279158-279158/ when a physician goes out of their way and issues prior authorizations for a drug due to various reasons and it still gets denied, it needs to be looked into and addressed....just stating that there are similar drugs available doesn't work in the long term, for example, if someone is allergic to the metal from the injectors and ends up with severe medical issues due to being denied an alternative way to take the medication if it is available that is a huge problem imo for the insurer to dismiss just because an alternative generic or other less costly insulin was available. I went to my endo appointment yesterday as my primary wanted to refer me to one after my last visit three weeks ago. I was at the counter giving the desk clerk my info, I noticed the OPTUM sign above on the wall, and said "oh you guys are OPTUM so you are owned by UHC?" the answer was yes...I knew at that point my appointment was going to get interesting. I didn't know what to expect regarding the endo that I was about to see. When I was called in, the medical asst. went through their routine, weight, height, take off your shoes (they check your feet for any signs of neuropathy) and the general questions, allergies, current meds, etc. I told her I have been taking the inhaled insulin to which she was pretty clueless. She said the endo had one more patient in front of me and would be in shortly....when she entered, I thought to myself ok here we go but to my surprise she said "I am so excited to see you after reading your chart, I have been reading up on this and you're my first patient to be using this, (I felt like saying no shit you're part of UHC and that is likely the reason why) but I continued to listen and answer her questions. By the time we were done, she had taken the reps name that handles this region and ironically knew the prior rep from SNY that is now with DEXCOM so she texted her that she was seeing me at that moment. I suggested to the endo that she contact the endo office in town that has been working with it since it came out as their practice is extremely backed up and they could probably use a good open minded young endo, she'd probably end up much better in the long run Also, as chance would have it, Spiro was calling me while I was at the appt. I said to her "oh this guy has been on it for a couple of years now, do you mind if I answer it and he can tell you what he thinks"...she said ok, and Spiro went on about how wonderful it has been and indirectly how his other lab numbers have come in line, needless to say when I was leaving the appt. to my pleasant surprise she seemed pretty sold on it. I just texted the rep a copy of her card and told her I swapped her info to her as well. I also suggested she go to afrezzauser.com so she can get Sam's perspective and other info as well. Just wanted to share with you all as the wall will weaken with each brick that gets displaced Read more: mnkd.proboards.com/thread/9029/scripts-stock-price?page=2#ixzz51Gq4ipUQ

@avrage 12/13/17, 1:37 PM $MNKD 8k out, share authorization passed with 95% of shares voting for. let's remember this 95 percent the next time something has to be voted on and people think that it can go either way! Personally I felt pretty good about it after the poll results , of course it was a very small sample size but the margin was wide when adding up the positives and undecideds (assuming they would realize it was in overall best interests) that it would fairly reflect retail investor sentiment. In hindsight, I may have left the poll open a bit longer but doubt much would have changed overall. Hopefully, those that were in the same mindset as DBC will come to realize it was not as threatening a number as they thought it would end up to be

Today is my B-day, and it just so happens Spiro is in town with his good friend. We're meeting up for a nice dinner and a toast with our dreamboats. Afterwards, a short walk to the T-Mobile arena to catch the hockey game with my son who flew in today from a severe snowstorm in upstate New York. I can't wait for him to see me using the Afrezza for the next couple of weeks as I know it will comfort him in knowing that I am combating my BG on a consistent and routine basis. My other son will be coming in on Saturday and he should be ecstatic as well, they are both in the medical arena and have been concerned knowing my numbers were out of whack for a bit. I feel so blessed and grateful to Al and MNKD to have Afrezza, that is not hype just true emotion of knowing it could extend my quality time with my family irregardless of share price, when truth hits the s/p that will just be icing (no pun intended for tonight's game lol) Cheers everyone and here's to the vote tomorrow!! Thanks all -J

There’s another thread for this somewhere. I’ve got all kinds of people emailing me telling me they’ve seen commercials 5-6 times. Seems they’ve accelerated.. Same here, I stopped posting how many times because I would be doing it quite often...actually have been surprised as to the amount of exposure and audience in the Las Vegas area, the sports games make sense here as well because of all the tourists visiting and the amount of screens (and food and drink) in this town. They should have posters on the buffet walls here when I see how much they load up on their plates holy cow lol

I do feel the moderators, and others, may not like if this thread is taken over with the off topic exercise of attacking me, so I'll leave my response on the subject at this post. I would leave the thread open for the next 48-72 hrs. or so and then after that I am sure there will be many new threads and it will go into the thread abyss lol

Joey - did you get your Abbott email? Libres are now suppose to be available at most major pharmacies. None in my area have them yet. This is the last email I rec'd on Thur. of last week, so hopefully will be this week Good news! Your Rx request is in process. We are happy to report that your Rx request is being processed. What's next? Watch your inbox-we'll send a confirmation email as soon as your request is transferred to your pharmacy. We appreciate your patience! Sincerely, The FreeStyle Prescription Retrieval support team Regarding Afrezza, it is one thing to have heard and seen the testimonials regarding those who have been using it, but having now had the opportunity to use it on a daily basis myself, I cannot emphasize how easy, convenient, and effective it truly is. I went to the Vegas Knights hockey game yesterday (won in OT yeah!) and to be able to use it so flawlessly, spontaneously, and easily solidifies the thesis of how could anyone use anything else if medically able to use this. Looking forward to getting the Libre shortly so the finger pricks get obsolete like my previous ineffective treatment did. Oh, and btw, I really don't miss the GI issues from Mr. Metformin .....who knows, Santa may be bringing a Lifetime Fitness membership for the Mrs. and I in a few weeks do you get the sense that I feel "reborn" with my renewed energy....the following is for Sports, I'm sure she would approve www.lifetime.life/life-time-locations/nv-las-vegas-summerlin.html ....Spiro, see you in a week, bring your appetite

Ironically, on the eve of Thanksgiving, I received my first package of Afrezza that I've waited to get since Feb of last year. Without going into too much detail I just want the board to know that I cannot be more impressed by the cohesive team at Mannkind from top down that made this possible. Also special thanks to Sports for helping me connect with one of the area managers that helped as well. I took my first 4 units ever and it was as easy as advertised, and not even the slightest tickle in my throat...in fact as I'm sure others have done, I had to look at the cartridge to evidence it was used. In a few weeks the Libre should be available and I have already signed up for it with Abbott so I will hopefully be on my way to constant monitoring and control of my BG. What's even better is that we had to select our option for insurance for the coming year and it looks like I will end up with Express Scripts so ADIOS UHC!! My take away and impression of the network in the sales area that is being developed by the company is that they are team players that communicate instantaneously and believe wholeheartedly in the product and the future of it and the company as well. My area rep was extremely helpful and actually went to my provider within hours to help with their understanding not only how urgent the situation was but referred me to the right pharmacy which maintains it in stock at all times....once the script was sent to the pharmacy, it was filled and at my doorstep within a few hours. It certainly is going to be a special Thanksgiving for my family as well as me personally knowing that I can say goodbye to Mr. Metformin while taking a much better approach to attacking my T2 diabetes. Thank you MIke C. & Team!!! and Happy Thanksgiving to all of you who have continued to support Al's vision, I know for a lot of you that you started it as an investment but also have endured quite a bit through the process. Without the investors continuing the fight, I'm not sure I would have received my Afrezza on the eve of this Thanksgiving. I sincerely believe the light at the end of the tunnel is getting brighter. Joey, may I ask for report? How is afrezza working on your blood glucose? What do you think? I think I can't believe that I had to wait 21 mos. to get this miracle insulin, my BG is improving daily as I am still learning to adjust my dosing relative to meal intake. I am not a 3 meals a day type and depending on daily work schedule my eating pattern/schedule can be relatively inconsistent. The beauty of the convenience factor (keeping my inhaler and cartridges in my pocket or laptop bag) is a huge plus with regard to the timing of my meals. Sorry for not replying sooner but whether coincidence or direct correlation since I started last week my energy level seems quite a bit higher so have been concentrating on work related things quite a bit more which is a great thing Speaking of which, I am proud to take it any time and yesterday during a breakfast meeting had no qualms taking it in front of the individuals at my table (great conversation starter) I had one business associate who is a T2 inquire about it and stated they would ask about it at their next office visit, unfortunately they have UHC so I warned them ahead of time about the challenge of dealing with them. The positive responses I get in public are not surprising as most can't believe I'm inhaling insulin....including those that said "I just saw a commercial this past week on that" ...nice to hear those, I am also getting texts from friends who have been hearing me for the last few years saying they just saw the commercial as well. It is definitely getting out there. I will update my numbers from where I started to my next visit when I get them, I fully anticipate that they will be heading in the opposite direction of the s/p
