This is a bit of a stretch, but given how DTC has now been pushed from Q1 2018 to Q4 2017, what are the chances that the results from the STAT study will be announced much sooner? In other words, can we expect an earlier time frame for this as well as other material events? STAT study will be ready for the June 2018 ADA convention.

KC, I think Mannkind management has a well laid out plan and is executing it well. Mike mentioned in the CC that some of the actions they are taking may not have an immediate effect on the earnings, but we will realize they are import when we look in the rearview mirror a few quarters from now. Agree! I think he is executing perfectly and getting great advice from his management team, Board and outside advisors. Can MannKind pull off what Exact Sciences has achieved since starting advertising?
Look at the PPS of Exact Sciences on March 1, 2016 trading at $5.05 per share. Today its about $59.00 per shares. They needed capital just like MannKind did to get over the hump.

one has to wonder who the genie is behind the curtain. Somebody bought into the plan in a big way when they raised the 60(57) million dollars that is helping to fund the advertising campaign. Now we have the issuance of new shares which might also be to help a friendly party or partner buy into the company with real equity that will help the company achieve a 2-5 year advertising campaign.
I am hopeful that is the reality and not my fantasy.

Excuse my bad memory but when the Outsulin image was presented back in 2016 if I recall correctly it was designed by the same firm that the cologuard cartoon image? Am I correct or am I losing my mind. It seems that MannKind has studied well what Exact Sciences has done to be a success in the marketplace.
The comment on the call was spot on regarding getting TV advertising going to let patients know about Afrezza Inhaled insulin now that they had cash. It has worked for Cologuard and it will make Afrezza a household name over they next couple of years. I would like to say quarters but this is a long term project.

I thought the call was very positive, lots of great things happening in mnkd land to promote afrezza growth. However I really wish there was more information about why Mannkind wants to double the authorized shares. DOUBLE. Hypothetically Someone could acquire all of these shares via a direct offering and own 50+% of the company. Another thing I found interesting, mike mentioned that international partnering discussions are still happening and near term. It was also listed as the next item on the checklist slide. Finally at the end of the call when questions were finished mike brought up UAE on his own accord, he mentioned that the previous CEO had a deal on the table a regional partner in one middle eastern country however mike is more focused on getting a deal with a bigger regional player that can cover multiple countries, something like all of the Middle East and India. Now bear with me, but that sounds like a much bigger deal , and given mikes projections in previous calls where he showed a map of the world and predicted afrezza to be distributed (or on file) in 50% of the world within a year A partner like that would likely be a big pharma company, and one that would most likely buy into Mannkind or outright acquire it if the partnership was successful. Exactly what might be happening here. They know of a potential transaction they could happen to make it acquisition at a fair market price, having treasury shares available would make that a good transaction for the company if the opportunity presented itself to make a friendly deal. The company needs equity and this would not be selling the company selling out, but allowing somebody to purchase upto a 50% interest with treasury shares.

Basically I believe it’s to sell more treasury stock like they did with the $61 million offering. It will give the company the ability to sell 25 to 50% of the company to friendly party will be investors in the future of MannKind. This is the way the MannKind Can ensure equity to stay in business and grow the business worldwide.
There must be a plan and a big investor for international expansion.

I got so excited that I added a few more shares. That dam 10 step program never works for me.
Seems that the company has enough cash runway now based on the 3 quarter information.
Cash and Cash Equivalents
Cash and cash equivalents at September 30, 2017 decreased to $20.1 million from $43.4 million at June 30, 2017, primarily due to cash burn for the third quarter of 2017 of $23.3 million. The cash balance as of September 30, 2017 does not include $57.7 million of net proceeds received from the registered direct offering of the Company’s common stock completed in October 2017.
77.8 million on hand.

My guess is Teva is really struggling just to try to keep their share price up and fix the company if they can.
Who are some of the associates James Flynn has in past deals? Anybody do that research. Companies that made it? Who they were sold to later on?
Curious if James Flynn is in some of the same social circles as Jim Cramer. Perhaps they are in the same Hamptons social Circle.

Well Deerfield is fully engaged. They want to win and know the deal. Their confidenence was show in the extension to 2021 and the new reduced rate of 5.75% That rate is about half of the old rate and shows that they think or know that the company is heading in the right direction and they are part of any decision that is made. This is not their first rodeo and they see the $$$$$ ahead.

Kuka I guess he did follow up on Tom’s call. That is a positive as he didn’t have to or follow up with him. Now maybe if mike feels he can hold his own with Cramer then he might contact him for a rebuttal and fact check to Cramer with the current changes made since the Sanofi dumping of MannKind.
Perhaps a little show and tell event.
Mike has the right personality to call him and ask for equal time to present the new case for MannKind / Afrezza.
Mike can use the Philadelphia Eagles since both of them show affection for the team. It might be the icebreaker call.
