One thing we all have to remember is that, while the sponsorship is exciting, it will only have the right impact if the car qualifies for the race. Only 33 cars make it and I know there will be at least a few more cars than that trying to get in. Can only hope the guy runs well during qualifying. If he doesn't make it, won't be for equipment shortcomings (Honda Engine which is probably a Cosworth) as Andretti has some good money behind them. At a minimum, the car will have Afrezza on it somewhere. Hopefully he is on or will begin using Afrezza soon. Would be a great story to have his blood glucose levels under even greater control with Afrezza and furthermore, wonder if he uses a CGM / DXCM as it would make for nice real time feedback assuming the data from a Dex6 could be uploaded to a phone in the car and sent to the cloud but that setup could be another 4 oz. or so and weight for race cars is a very big deal. I can only imagine during the race if BG levels start to rise and he pits, takes a 4U hit from the dreamboat while getting fuel and then BG levels on telemetry for all to see. Won't happen but fun to think about. www.indycar.com/Drivers

I am a girl. I am not an auto racing fan. What ever MNKD wants to do.
My son told me, he didn't understand the attitude he is seeing regarding gasoline cars. I told him, the reason electronic cars are being pushed is because of the zero carbon exhaust emissions. we do not talk about climate change in this country.
It is raining in Minnesota. March 14. MN had the most amount of snow fall on record in Feb.
I do understand there are a good number of people that enjoy auto racing. the crashes.
Talk it up.

Then an unsolicited mention of Afrezza would be awesome.

Anyway, while you were / are enjoying your snow and rain, Australia has been setting more extreme heat records (sort of an annual occurrence over there in recent years). It's a big world. www.theguardian.com/australia-news/2019/jan/24/australia-heatwave-adelaide-breaks-its-all-time-heat-record-hitting-466cI run into more and more Australians moving to Canada to work in our ski resorts and other service industries, as they hate the extreme heat they've been having over there in recent years. Maybe you are seeing more Aussies in MN as well?

No one looks at this electric car 'solution' holistically.
I have forgotten a lot, but whether e-cars are better than zero-emissions ICE cars over a typical vehicle lifetime depends on a lot of factors, economies of production scale, bla bla bla and I have seen it reported both ways so it is yet to be clear whether this is really any panacea.
Certainly it is a benefit to urban areas with higher concentrations of vehicles.
Sure there may be some, but I don't think anytime soon we will be seeing e-cars, e--trucks, e-planes in keeping with the spirit of the green new deal.
Hydrogen fuel cells.
Just figure how not to blow up the refueling station when getting your H2.

I am not a big auto racing fan, but make it a point to watch the Indy 500 from start to finish every year. I suspect more than a few others watch this race, an institution that draws a national/international audience and celebrates advanced technology. The fact that Mannkind will be represented at Indy is a good thing. The drivers often drop in sponsor names during the many interviews they do in the week leading up to the race. A feature on Afrezza/diabetes is possible, but would compete with many other potential stories within these racing teams.

Would be great if Mannkind has bought some airtime for Afrezza commercials during the race.
Then again, it's probably a little expensive for their budget...

Thank You!!! My view all along. People ignore the unseen environmental cost. But that battery electricity has to come from somewhere.
Not to mention their impracticality where I live - long commuting distances, very cold winters, lack of recharging places, lack of time to recharge. Heck, I don't even have a safe place to plug one in.

Dr. Kendall I am sure is part of this since Conor was tied to Lilly in the past. Several years ago I posted on Connor's twitter feed about Afrezza. From 2016 .
