I am sick. I see a parity.
Umm, respectfully disagree. Walking through a park hand-in-hand is, well, kinda like normal. Sitting in a bathtub side by side holding hands when the advert is for, well, you know, kinda weird IMHO. Just sayin'.

We need it available for those that do not have twitter, fb etc will it be on proboards somehow? Also the reminder that some of us are still using Bugs Bunny television... (no, not a cut back from any investment loss, just never believed in paying for a lot of stations that have nothing worth watching).

It is disappointing that there was advert for bogus stem cell "cure". Too bad as a provider rather than pharma they are not subject to same FDA restrictions... or conversely, too bad we can't have VDex run an ad touting dramatic A1c results with Afrezza (with the same sort of tiny "results may vary" disclaimer that was on the stem cell ad).

Well, I at least I can't see how the stem cell ad could detract from the effectiveness of the Afrezza ad or sales, and on the positive side, the sponsorship enables the show of which MNKD benefits from.

Fun commercial. Good way of getting across the convenience factor. I hope it brings and RETAINS a bunch of new users. I really like the food parachuting in.
That is hands down the best insulin advert I have seen (thanks to BD for the MP4). The "not rely solely on injections" line was interesting. I wonder if they are going to position Afrezza as an adjunct.

"When the moment is right", eh? I guess there is a parallel to Afrezza...you don't have to wait a half hour to indulge.

I agree. That's ridiculous in the difference of disclaimers. I guess you can tout anything you want if it is considered a "treatment" instead of an individual medication.

Then it's FTC and as long as not blatantly false it is good to go even if very misleading. You could treat one person with stem cells (and additionally pay them to become a low fat vegan and train for a triathlon) and it would be fine to show them as an example of how stem cells can drop someone's A1c (fine print: combined with diet and exercise, results may vary). At least it seems that way. FDA is entirely different game.

I think the commercial is terrible and could cause serious blowback from physicians and the diabetic community. Showing presumably type 2 diabetics -- presumed because most of them appeared overweight -- with great bowls of food and what was it -- a large hamburger floating down by parachute? -- goes directly against the very first step in treating type 2 diabetics which is losing weight by controlling diet and healthy eating.
On top of that, it conflicts with the basic premise of the show which is to "reverse" diabetes by diet, exercise, and non-pharmacological methods. Instead, MNKD presents an image of it's okay to "pig out" as much as you want because you can take a drug. That's not communicating a healthy approach to handling the illness.
I honestly believe MNKD will be better off if diabetics don't see it.

I think this commercial was good. Much better than "Surprise it's insulin" and "Outsulin." The warnings at the end are necessary. Does anybody feel like this is the first time in a while Mannkind told us they were going to deliver something, and they did? Maybe we'll see international expansion or Technosphere licensing deals next! Now we've got .... Surprise! Its burger!

The show is about reversing how people view their disease, overcoming it emotionally, reversing the perception viewed with it from both sides. And Charles said this himself.
