How do you know for sure they were not sold? Do you have something to add here? I have been seeing so much FUD this weekend. You know, it's pretty cool to actually produce something other than spin from the dark side. mss, it really was just a straight-forward question. Please reign in the attack-dog mentality, OK?

Joey,
Thanks. This makes me feel much better about my options. I have been burnt with this stuff. I only have 15 $5 JAN 15 CALLS as I sold off about 45 when the pps was most recently in the $7's. I see calls like peaches. You best harvest them when ripe as they tend to rot. I got creamed this past Dec to Feb thinking we would be in the $20's.

Joey,
As for the inverted H&S, I am very aware of what you point out. But, correct me if I am wrong, if you look off to the right there is normal head and shoulders. I thought this had "died" when we started up to the $7 mark. It retraced and I hoped we were seeing a cup and handle. With the pps were it is today I have given up on that and it is back to the H&S pattern.
Again the head of that is June of last year. The left shoulder is July 2013 I think. The right shoulder is kind of funky and but I think it is still there. To me this is unnerving with all the fud that is flying and capped with SNY's lack of discourse and Fridays script numbers. I have been long on this stock for years. I post as redhaw on ymb. I don't post here because I feel I don't have much to add. Most of my posts on yahoo are bickering with Fudsters which has me worn out.
Thanks for your kind response.
Sincerely,
Steve the long.

What Material Event do you think might happen. As it stands right now -
1. We supposedly have a fantastically beneficial diabetic drug. 2. The product and it's supposedly game changing benefits to diabetic's is supposedly unknown by 9 out of 10 diabetics, endocrinologists and regular doctors. 3. Because of #2 it isn't selling. If the drug really is as good as the companies' stock owners say it is and everyone in #2 were informed about it. It would sell. 4. The people (Sanofi) responsible for making the people in #2 know about it, ARN'T and don't even mention it, even when they report earnings. 5. The people that invented it and produce it just tripled the size of how much of it they can make. 6. But because of #4 it doesn't make a dam difference.
Just wondering what Material Event are you thinking of?

Point of the thread was not to allude to any specific material event, it was to illustrate the risks if one were to happen and for those who may not be prepared (ala margin and shorter term options positions they hold or were thinking of) if same occurred. It has been my experience that when there are two very diverse sides it can end with some volatile fireworks. When some of the factors you point out may be on the "brink" of breaking through and you have a large short contingent that is "stuck" and has almost doubled over the course of a year in trying to suppress and keep a s/p from getting away from them, they will seize any opportunistic time where confusion may aid in their getting freed up from a bad position. In addressing your points 3,4, and 6 I encourage you to read the "its NOT sanofi" thread...also read my exchange I posted in that thread with a SNY rep. especially the point of why Toujeo is not being blocked by the insurers compared to Afrezza. Hope that helps

While I am not a "Chart-a-holic", I have appreciated your sane posts on ymb. I occasionally post over in that jungle under the same handle. Thanks for joining in over here in the land of reason.

It saddens me when I read a contributor say they haven't posted here because they don't think they "have anything to add."
I hope this board remains a place of reason...as long as it's within reason. I think that posting optimism, for example that one has blind faith in MannKind/Sanofi, should not be construed as pumping. "Buy out next Monday!" - now that's pumping. Posting one's sentiment is not, IMO.
From time to time you may notice I throw out a somewhat "exuberant" theory for discussion. I happen to like provoking people to think outside the box from time to time. Occasionally such discussions uncover new ideas. To be honest, I think that lack of information is depressing and it has been providing the perfect soil to plant FUD.
So, as for me, I would hope that nobody ever thinks they are not contributing by posting a simple, "I believe good things are coming". I like a when a little ray of sunshine peeks through, especially after all weathermen have predicted a gloomy day.
Some consider speculation to be the antithesis of reason. I happen to believe shareholders speculating that great things are about to begin is perfectly reasonable.

Could the next big event be a TS deal announced during the 2nd qtr CC? Matt said there are 2 TS areas that are now neck & neck. Since we are on the brink of good things a TS deal would be nice.

Steve the long. Hi RedHaw, I think you have a lot to offer this board. When you post on the YMB, I make it a point to read it. I am sure many here would love to hear your viewpoint on things. The atmosphere here is more relaxed even when we don't agree. I still spend a little time on the YMB, but a lot here too. So welcome aboard!

kc, "That is why I really think that perhaps we as retail investors are tied too emotionally to MannKind."
Huh? KC, I just don't see any evidence of that on this board. I see nothing but dry, analytical, very detached posts, most all of which happen to point in the same direction (like sea gulls on a race track - ever notice that?). I chalk that up to coincidence, certainly not emotion.
Personally, I can take this stock or leave it, makes not a smidgen of difference to me (Did Afrezza get approved yet? When is the pdufa date again?). In fact, I hardly notice it in my portfolio, and as further proof, well, I rarely post - heck, Liane has more posts than I!

There are always two sides of a trade. The call options were both sold and bought and that was quite a few of them. I know someone will mention market makers being on the other side of the trade, but that is just an intermediary. MMs are out to make money and help liquidity of a stock, so they would not make a ridiculous trade that they have no chance of unwinding for at least a net neutral result. Multiple someone's are expecting some fireworks in August. I am glad that all my shares were bought with cold hard cash errr I mean electronic bits in a computer somewhere that represent currency

Dear sir,
I happen to own quite a few shares. Spinning fud? Yikes. A simple question. (...)
To assume I spinning fud is mighty thin skinned. ... I have seen my account whittled down now to hear someone call me out?! For a simple question. (...)
I don't post much hear as I just read.
Steve Your legitimate questions prompt me to ask the administrators if there is some workaround to numbers of posts and board classifications? For people who read but don't post (perhaps more folks than we think), it can often be assumed (because of experiences here with newbie short shills) that someone with very few posts is spreading FUD. Yet, if someone has been a member for several months, they may be a newbie poster but not a recent member. Is there not an algorithm that can be applied to recognize status based on length of membership, (or that failing) a line under the avatar image that shows how long the person has been a member? My suggestion is intended to promote friendly (or at least polite and civil) communication that reduces the possibility of assumptions about malicious intent. Regards to all Chris C
