Again probably the right decision for you if you were agonizing over it, but I do point you back to your own post from yesterday. Don't let emotions rule your investing. This is a gut punch - an unverified one to try to shake loose some more shares. This is a classic case of how short sellers do in fact shake the convictions of even the most die hard believers. As much as we wish ourselves to be purely creatures of logic, we all succumb to our emotions when investing. Best of luck to you and I hope to see you around in the future. You're exactly right -- I got spooked. I trimmed my position and will watch. Like I said in my post yesterday, it's okay to wait and see -- you won't miss the boat. I'm not 100% out. Welcome back! You were missed!

I remember the false report that was published minutes before closing on the day the FDA approved Afrezza. It was around June 27, 2014 if I recall correctly. The report "caused" the share price to drop over $2 in minutes. After hours, the share price climbed back into the green after it came out that the report was false. Today's "news event" seem strikingly similar to me... The interpretation of the Globe report was shaky at best, but the way I read the story, it appears that MNKD may have met the two conditions to proceed. There are (1) connections to Israel (note that they did NOT say it had to be an Israeli company) via Alfred Mann's $100M contribution to Israel's Technion Institute and (2) MannKind appears to have beat the November deadline date set by the exchange commission, after which they must hold off on any new IPO until the new decision related to the ETFs. Perhaps the intent of this report was simply to shake more shares loose. After all, we've seen this happen before... --- Regardless, good fortune to you. its pretty sad, but I can completely believe this. And if it's true, it's almost good news, aka there never was any bad news (I'll take either at this point) My concern is, what will bring the stock back up after this sleazy trick? AKA, what is the reason for buyers to step in to buy MNKD shares? The only reason I can see is script numbers or a crystal clear message from SNY, and right now we have neither. I don't see shorts being the buyers, I believe they want to ride this into the ground. So their sleazy trickery tanks the sp, and then it never has a reason to recover....... Feels like they've been doing this for over a year. And to remember how upset I was when we went under $5. GLTA

They've been doing it for at least fifteen years to dozens and dozens of companies.

A very difficult decision for you but now that you made it, move on and learn from it. A basic portfolio of index funds allows you to get a good return and an even better nights sleep. For the rest of you having a challenging day, try to go sit in the lobby of a VA hospital or if you happen to be in DC, Walter Reed. It will likely become apparent to you very quickly that this Mannkind situation is relative. What can juice share price now, GSK, Merck, Novo, Lilly or J&J or one of the other big pharmas with world class sales, marketing and regulatory machines putting in a $4B cash offer for Mannkind. Sanofi can't let that happen. In the hands of any of these companies, Sanofi would witness the destruction of their diabetes business in a way which it would never recover. Don't bother posting about Novo and Lilly, I know about cannibalization. I also know about bundling and taking prandial and basal share from your competition.

[ Thanks for the words, but I never said I'm out.... I'm still holding my balls AND all my shares (for well over $100k loss) As for the value of MNKD, and a $4 bil offer from another BP,,,,,, that's making a big assumption that everyone sees MNKD being worth $4 bil. I would argue it's worth much more,,, however, at this moment Afrezza isn't selling itself, and without a successful Afrezza, tevhnosphere is unproven. The argument the shorts are making is that Afrezza will fail and Techno is worthless. Unfortunately, I have yet to see any ACTIONS from SNY or MNKD to change their minds.

My comment on shares sold was to XOXO. Yes, MNKD is worth significantly more than $4B but certainly it is not going to fetch peak value at this point in time.

You're exactly right -- I got spooked. I trimmed my position and will watch. Like I said in my post yesterday, it's okay to wait and see -- you won't miss the boat. I'm not 100% out. Welcome back! You were missed! Thanks -- Boy am I getting hammered on ST and YMB... so unfair -- I just felt more comfortable limiting my position. It looks pretty stupid in hindsight if it indeed goes through, as I think that the shares (if still long term) are a great way to raise money for MNKD.

No worries cfield23 We all need to make the investing decisions that give us the peace of mind and confidence needed to move forward and live our lives without constantly worrying about how those investments are doing on a minute to minute basis. Getting attacked by nameless internet posters is no cause for concern in the grand scheme of things. I've been labeled a basher as well as a pumper (at the same time?!?) based on my past posts and it hasn't caused me much anxiety - unlike the roller coaster ride of watching MNKD stock
