The breakout. Volume comes in heavy. (Heavier) 2 times normal volume today. Target, $2.24.
Conventional thought is consolidation of even back a bit. But consider 24 days to cover puts that nearly a week beyond Apr 5th. I don't think shorts want to be there in force during the handover. But God help us afterwards if no news or progress is shown. I can see why. Look at the volume. The last time MNKD saw volume like that was receptor life science announcement. screencast.com/t/JQ8dDZeRLooking at the chart $2.00 tomorrow. Quote: But consider 24 days to cover puts that nearly a week beyond Apr 5th. I don't think shorts want to be there in force during the handover. reply: good point.

Another question to ask is, why have the likes of AF and others slowed down the hit-piece articles we all loved so much (sarcasm) AF: There's the charm.

However, late last spring, we also saw this phenomena too - and it went back up into the 7s. Is that our trajectory now? I think early April will be the acid test. But if we keep rising between now and then, I think a new floor will be established if the rise/squeeze doesn't continue.

If MNKD retraces to $7 I'd be happy as hell, and I'd sell half.

Want to bet Matt is sitting at his desk thinking- they like me, they really like me.
My price projection (that I gave two calls ago) was 3$. I think that remains a fair evaluation (guesstimate) given the pipeline...
I think the run up is a result of increased transparency from Matt and their CMO. I hope it's also a result of a leak from MannKind regarding the clinical trial data they will revealing in the next two months.
Another observation is MNKD is going up as Sanofi is going down (the last few days)...

If MNKD retraces to $7 I'd be happy as hell, and I'd sell half. Again I've been wrong about pretty much everything with this stock but if: 1. Settlement from Sanofi 2. Sign on with a partner or two for outside US Afrezza distribution 3. Strong guidance and plan for US Afrezza distribution 4. RLS milestone payment and update on developments 5. New Techno partnership I believe these could happen in the next 6 months and I would say $7 would then be achievable. Good luck to all.

Here is another guess as to why MNKD is going up. Men like their prostates, right where they are. (I am so inappropriate)

I'm struggling on this with everyone , but here are my latest best guesses... assuming that what is happening is based on material in the public domain.
1. Hand back in early April is coming, so its a Buy on the Rumor sell on the News effect.
2. Is there a discount on stocks previously well and tightly held by their founder now being unwound? Dont shoot me for this , I admire Al like anyone, I'm just struggling to explain what is going on.
3. Castagna. The more I read this guys bio , the more he seems like the perfect guy for the job. Not sure if he will succeed, but compared to some recent people in or near this role he seems like a much better pick. The guy was a pharmacist for years.

I've accepted that I'm the last to know everything, so I don't care to even guess why things happen.
That said, when I think of the sp over the last 8 months along with what we now know about SNY's plans over the last 8 months, I can't help but believe we were the only ones who weren't in on it, and MNKD was then targeted for failure & bankruptcy.
Has Matt now said or done enough to eliminate the BK probability all together? Or at least cut it in half?
Is the sp running simply because complete failure is off the table?
If so, now how is MNKD valued? I think the answer to that is wide open, from a buy out, to actual sales projections for Afrezza. I guess we'll find out soon.

Latest thoughts:
Those in charge of Al's affairs are covering his massive short position (that no one knew he had). We've been transported to a parallel universe. This is a grand group illusion - everyone not associated with MNKD reads the price as $1.01.

If Al was smart, he would have had shorted his own company knowing how strong a force there was against his company. Would not that be interesting to see that cash made from shorting his own stock funneled back into the company?

Unless you are using the Bifrost to channel profit back and forth from that asgardian parallel universe.
