Description
Reporting to the Chief Executive Officer, Chief Commercialization Officer will develop, direct, and manage the company’s sales, marketing, payor management functions, as well as supplying strategic direction on product development, and customer support/customer experience. S/he will assure that all functions of the organization are aligned to meet its strategic commercial objectives and develop annual and long term budgets for revenues as well as expenses. This will be a dynamic and seasoned person with strong knowledge of product launches and portfolio management in big pharma and/or biotech. S/he will drive the company’s achievement of its revenue goals. S/he will be a true business partner to the CEO, the CMO, and the executive leadership team.
Deliver strategic leadership for defining the commercial path to growth and profitability of the company and the establishment of an effective growth process and infrastructure.
Develop collaborative working relationships within the organization in pursuit of the of the company’s overall business goals.
Lead development and execution of the company’s marketing strategy with an emphasis on achieving market penetration and sales growth with a particular emphasis on cost-effective customer acquisition and market demand generation.
Develop and implement the company’s sales strategy across key market segments to ensure that the company identifies and optimizes a clear path to aggressive growth.
Lead development and implement payor reimbursement strategies and optimal formulary placement.
Assess, build and manage an array of necessary channels capable of delivering on the company’s growth objectives.
Develop a strategy and provide leadership for enterprise-wide business development opportunities.
Develop and manage the budget for all functions managed.
Provide real-time analysis of account activity, usage trends, and company development of new products/partnerships.
Manager RFP’s and new business pitch development and presentations.
Manage third-party contractors, vendors, budget, and staff.
Responsible for observing all Company, Health, Safety and Environmental guidelines.
Duties and responsibilities are not limited to the work listed above and may include other assignments as necessary.
Requirements
BA/BS degree in Business or Marketing; Master’s degree preferred
15+ years sales and marketing experience with a minimum of 8 years in a senior management position. While big pharma experience is helpful, a background in small biotech strongly desired.
A hands-on self-starter.
Strong leadership skills.
Demonstrated experience in developing AND executing successful commercialization strategies in early stage companies.
Global sales experience.
Portfolio management.
Strong and demonstrated strategic thinking skills.
A marketing investment pro. You understand the importance of establishing and reporting ROI for your campaigns and optimizing based on performance.
An analytical, data-driven decision maker.
A team player. You enjoy group projects, working and managing internal and external groups, and have a proven track record of leading complex projects to successful completion.
Strong communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
A proven track record of success in life sciences marketing and strategic sales.
Ability to plan and manage at both the strategic and operational levels.
Experience with combination (drug and device) products a plus.
