Have seen this before folks watch the traders take it right down without anything material. I would generally agree if there were liquidity, however, this stock has been washed out and there is no water left to wash....weak hands, hands that could not take the chinese water torture of days past, and those that have moved on have been long gone....those that remain aren't giving up much of it now, except those that are happy to get their pre-split .50 back which under normal circumstances would be the former $2.00 support...the dark side will do whatever they can to hold that line as resistance now but there is a nice little IPA by Tapestry Brewing that I'll be taking down....It's name you may ask? the slow daily grind higher has been accumulation as opposed to swing trading, if you chart and pull up OBV (on balance volume) it will show you the price increase is following the increased volume recently. Increased SP takes care of a lot of things including size of dilution. This one is for you RSR, you need to play this at your next gig....any lovin is good lovin, a little BTO...Joey is awake!! www.youtube.com/watch?v=cFRk0FfaQi0

Aug 29th??? That's tomorrow. MN is the real "I see the future" didn't you know that Liane but while we're on the subject of getting an upgraded label and pediatric studies and timelines I believe what has not been mentioned is the possibilities with the new regimes in place at both the FDA and MNKD . First, this in not your previous nepotistic conflict of interest FDA rather an experienced and proactive one that believes in the idea of breakthrough technologies see prior blog from current director www.forbes.com/sites/scottgottlieb/2016/01/12/fda-needs-to-change-how-it-regulates-novel-technologies/#36264d7e191e ....here he is talking about stem cell technologies and the risks vs. rewards but it gives very nice insight into how this administrations FDA director thinks progressively. I can see possible fast tracking under breakthrough therapy which leads me to the other new regime. Unlike the previous one that was way in over their heads in various areas, Mike C. and the management that he has put together are like night and day compared to the previous (obviously inferring to everyone previous except Al). What Mike brings to the table more than anything compared to Matt is his PharmD and prior resume with BP. Combine his background and resume along with the rest of this management team and the current FDA mentality of getting the backlog of decision making caused by previous regulation and red tape and this company has a much higher potential of meeting the milestones of what most have been waiting for way too long and I believe the market has already started to see that as well. For those that comeback with the usual "yeah but what about scripts and cash" those can change overnight at any given time and like Mike said in the CC....I don't lose sleep over it either....speaking of which, turning the other side of the pillow....Zzzz

Am I the only one who thinks there's a reason the Technosphere Trepostinil was accelerated in the MannKind pipeline with Ray stating they have a schedule for filing their IND with the FDA? Current treatments for PAH - Pulmonary Arterial Hypertension - can required patients chained to nebulizers and administering drugs 12-20 times a day.
There is definitely an unmet medical need in this area of medicine. Trep-T as deemed orphan status as implied in the CC: www.fda.gov/ForIndustry/DevelopingProductsforRareDiseasesConditions/ucm2005525.htmOrphan Drug Modernization Plan On June 29, 2017 , the U.S. Food and Drug Administration unveiled a strategic plan to completely eliminate the agency’s existing orphan designation backlog and ensure continued timely response to all new requests for designation with firm deadlines. The agency’s Orphan Drug Modernization Plan comes a week after FDA Commissioner Scott Gottlieb committed to eliminating the backlog within 90 days and respond to all new applications within 90 days of receipt during his testimony before a Senate subcommittee. That day may have had a lot to do with moving Trep-T up the development ladder and the referred to positive meeting with the FDA

Good to hear from you joey; hope your slumber does not need to be too long. Can't agree. Political attacks should be banned from this board, whether they be directed at Trump or Obama. Let's be clear, the attack if you want to call it that was specifically on the individuals and not their political affiliation, lets not get defensive now and make any unnecessary assumptions as you are the one making it political in your mind .....mine was more a statement of how the trials were set up to fail via an inept FDA appointed individual that had a severe and blatant conflict of interest. This has been hashed over in some historical posts here and on the old Yahoo message boards if you wish to grab a bag of popcorn and do some due diligence. I could care less what party they were affiliated with, the damage that was done and lives impaired by her actions or lack of proper action and the individual responsible for putting her in that position are IMO directly responsible for making Al go through some undue hell in his efforts to get this to market in a more timely and far less expensive fashion. I stated two facts, the first being they were alumni and associated with the overall same institution as alumni of Harvard (as facts pointed out separate affiliated branches of same) the other being that a big part of the mess that was created financially was due to the time and costs of the company having to go through the two trials and having to finally get it in front of an unbiased ADCOM panel (other than the individual from NOVO). C'mon Lefty you should know better, this was totally MNKD related and far from a jab at the specific party they were affiliated with. Bringing this back to topic, I appreciate Investor Sam posting the thread as the individual behind the case study discussion has a tremendous resume and I would love to hear and be part of the discussion among the students and their thoughts -J

As an alum I can confirm this is a case study for teaching purposes. The write up will not express a point of view but rather lay out the situation Mannkind has faced and is facing as a starting point of discussion. There is often, but not always, some accompanying data. In the class students will assess the situation and offer a set of conclusions based on the information provided in the case as well as other info they may have. Importantly, there is often no right or wrong answer (just as is often the case in business) and students will often disagree on their assessment of the situation. PS I have no special access to the case materials. Ironically, it was two alum that helped cause this mess, BO and the person he appointed MH both of which are fortunately miles away from the FDA these days. Having said that, as far as the case study, bunch of smart individuals and some with $$$. Most likely will end up with some taking additional shares out of inventory of the borrowed and lent pool, have no issues with that , rolling over and going back to sleep, nice to see some familiar faces albeit a few years older lol. It's been a while since I have added to my inventory but over the last two weeks have taken some serious bites both shares and options. Ok, once again wake me up when it's over....oh yeah btw, sleeping better with the new mgmt. team Zzzzzzzz. -J

I dont see something scary as the silence is scary enough on another note joeypotsandpans did talk about invese H&S at one point of time. may be the technicians can chime in Didnt dude go into hibernation rip van winkle mode? Someone should wake him and let him know. That guy never worried. This "dude" is still Zzzzz Zzzzz still long, just not obsessed like a certain SO is lol. Iam2 sorry was off the board for a while so since you mentioned it in this thread and MN added the chart, yes that would still be in play from a technical standpoint. Maybe a surprise on Tues. will shake up certain landscapes, lord knows they need to be (one could only hope but don't want to turn this into a political thread)....actually just hope that Hamburg eventually meets her maker and has some serious explaining to do ...with the other scandals she's been involved in between her and her husband, one way or the other I'm sure kharma as defined: "The totality of a person's actions and conduct during successive incarnations, regarded as causally influencing his or her destiny" will come home to roost at some point...ok back to Zzzz Zzzz

LFD responded to Mike, said he was out golfing and thus the reason for the delayed response, ironic he used the term minions in his response as that is what I assume he (among others) have been for the significant short holder position all this time. Remains a battle of attrition, time and runway. A quick hello to my long time fellow longs, hope you're all enjoying your families etc. this holiday weekend and Liane thanks for keeping this thread a sticky on top -J

OMG, OMG, Joey must know something about the report due on Monday!!! LOL Baba, nothing more than anyone else, has nothing to do with the report...rather just it seems like the company that is now behind the wheel in the driver's seat is much more conducive to helping me get my Afrezza script filled at a much more reasonable cost....at least that is the feeling I get as opposed to that sorryfi company that had me feeling like a salmon rather than a body surfer if you know what I mean, that and the timing of that long term chart I've been attached to just felt right today especially after that "disappointing script number" Enjoy your weekend(s)!

WAKE UP Joey, good things are happening. The bullish call made 2 weeks at $.95 has finally been confirmed with the obliteration of the $1.10 resistance. Don't be surprised if the price backs off and retests the $1.10 level (previous resistance, now support). I'm looking for the SP to move to the $1.45-$1.50 area where we will again face strong resistance. The April 4 date will create a lot of bullish investor speculation which could take us to higher levels. Congrats to all who jumped in at lower prices. Trend Trend, wake me when we're back to 20/sh otherwise pizza guy and I are and have been long and strong and snoozing away......my chart is 10 yrs long...hit the link then hit max for duration..... For those who follow me after 5 mos. in a deep slumber I awoke today and made the following purchase/add to current position, rolling over and going back to Zzzz land...hope all are well and enjoying life - BOT 8,800 MNKD 0.99998 USD DARK + 2 10:54:08

Actually TA has consistently been stating that Shorting is the better trade for nearly a year with the exception of a couple minor rallies. Only lately are the TA's turning so positive. I find these TA tools fascinating because I'm a bonafide geek, not because I'm a day-trader. I'm in this for the long haul. But I do find the reversal to be interesting, given MannKind state of affairs. Don't you? That is interesting, so TA has been pretty accurate with MNKD over the past year. Glad to hear that. Wondering what our other TA followers like trend and joey ( has he disappeared?) think about this reversal? had to pinch myself...nope still here just continuing to sleep ZZzzzz through the noise watching the longer term chart continue to play out finance.yahoo.com/echarts?s=MNKD+Interactive#{"range":"max","allowChartStacking":true}

What a terrible loss. And what a terrible time for him to pass; with what is perhaps his greatest accomplishment is in its darkest hour. I didn't know Al personally, but I knew his type. If I'm right, he never gave up fighting to make something that helps thousands happen and took joy only when he overcame impossible odds to do it. How many of us would have rode off into the sunset with the billion dollars Medtronic gave us for Minimed? I certainly would. And that's why history will never remember someone like me. Unfortunately I'm the rule and not the very, very, very rare exception that Al was. There's only a handful of people on the planet like him at any given time and we all lose something when someone like that passes. God only knows what more he could have created or done to help others if he had the chance. As it is, we wait for his successor(s)....should they ever show up. As we've seen, there are no shortage of people to try and kill you and your dreams when you break away from the herd and try to innovate. I've only been a shareholder in his ventures, but I've seen from that distance the constant "It will never work" trolls work tirelessly to kill his work. I can only imagine what it is like in the trenches. And he and his team endured it...perhaps even loved it...because they knew they'd be proven right. It is a terrible thing for Al not to have the moment he fought so hard for. My sincere hope is that those that work for (or with) with Mannkind use Al's death as an inspiration, just as his life was, to see his vision through. Just because it may be darkest, does not mean the light of a thousand candles can't make it dawn. As a long-time shareholder I am doing my best to be one of those candles. I hope you join me. And I hope when Al looks down on us on the day Afrezza changes the very paradigm of diabetes, he can smile one last time and say "I told you so." www.youtube.com/watch?v=eclbaC3q94kThank you Petech and everyone else for the posts, however, I firmly believe that Al had that quiet confident half smile and didn't view the current situation as his darkest hour as it is being portrayed. From his statement of assurance to Matt "take care of the patient, and the rest will take care of itself" he knew that it would eventually manifest itself in due time as we will most likely witness on his behalf. When you think of the type of inspiration Al instilled it reminds me of Jack Nicholson's line in As good as it gets "you make me want to be a better man", peace to Al and his family, and thank you for making my life a healthier one going forward.

Yes and Yes to both posts above, absolutely concur with both along with the obvious other factors ie., why in the world would a short position not be closed out with a potential gain of only .67 and unlimited risk to the upside along with the carrying cost of those same shares which would erode the minimal potential gain anyway? Couple that with the constant negative articles, posts, etc. and ask yourself why these are even written or posted for "helping thy neighbor" purposes lol. THEY CANNOT COVER plain and simple, and this company continues to have "broad shoulders" (pun intended) to lean on as Al passes the torch. I have been slammed business wise and have not really had the time or cared to read the BS posters, and while I'm on the topic of being busy it flies in the face of the markets screaming slow down so not sure what that's all about but that's a whole different topic. The increase in borrow rate still applies to the simple supply and demand equation (see previous thread about law of diminishing returns)...no doubt they have had deep pockets to not only contain but walk the sp down but at some point they will give in to the inevitable IMO. Great weekend all! Nice posts TD & MN
