In Touch has exclusively learned that Tom Hanks has been struggling with other serious health conditions in the years since he was diagnosed with type 2 diabetes.
“Tom isn’t just battling diabetes — he’s suffering from prostate flare-ups and other blood sugar problems,” a source close to the two-time Oscar winner reveals. The source states that Tom must take pills multiple times a day to help manage his issues, adding, “The side effects are what’s really affecting him.”
( <----- is backing a way from that train. )

Note to Matt P- get Hanks on it. He will then become our defacto spokesman. Late nite talk shows. Etc. Advertising budget solved.

There are so many celebrities living with diabetes; Halle Berry, Jay Cutler, Damon Wayans........ advertising possibilities are plentiful!

Change the label, and you have a shot. If Dr's wont prescribe you think an A list celebrity is going to Endorse?

Absolutely nothing in that article about Tom hanks being on afrezza I made the same mistake you did - thinking the OP said he was on it. Then when I read it again after being annoyed he wasn't on it, I realized they'd said "tell Hanks to take Afrezza" not that he was already on it...

Change the label, and you have a shot. If Dr's wont prescribe you think an A list celebrity is going to Endorse? If a celebrity endorsed (if that's even legal... I don't think the FDA allows that, otherwise you'd have athletes bragging about Viagra...oh wait ol Raphael Palmero did that so maybe you can ) more people would be interested in the medication and would ask their doctors to try it. I don't think a label change would be needed for that. Check out Steph Curry and under Armour. People quit buying nikes and went to UA simply because they wanted Stephs shoes. People follow their favorite celebs, even for comparable products. But it'd still be nice to get that label change Hanks should be aware of Afrezza. This is troubling news. I hope and wish for health upon him and for him to get on an Afrezza regimen

MNKD is probably not looking for endorsements. First and foremost, MNKD wants to help him and as many patients as possible. I am sure that Tom Hanks would get that point very well if MNKD helped him. What he personally feels obligated to do after MNKD gets him healthy is his business.
Look at who attended the AMF Gala events. Jay Leno attended so most of Hollywood connects to him. He knew Al and Claude. Wayne Gretzky attended. He received an award at one of the AMF Gala events. The list of connections goes on and on. From what I recall, the Gala events were organized by Claude, not Al, to raise money and awareness for the Foundations [AMF]. It sure seems that if one was willing to ask for money, one would be comfortable offering help back...
I'm just spitballing here. Call up Jay to see if he knows how Tom is doing because WE could really help him if he lets us. Helping one patient at a time CAN be very beneficial to all patients if you help them in an advantageous order. Again, order and time matter for Afrezza; this fact is true for marketing too.
How does MNKD reach 400 million diabetics? That was Al Mann's last unmet challenge. The stage is set.
I would not want to be SHORT this stock. I mean if Afrezzauser starts adding A-list celebs to his list of friends with normal or near-normal HbA1C's...
Narrator: Faster than a speeding bullet. More powerful than a locomotive. Able to leap tall buildings in a single bound. Man 1: Look! Up in the sky! It’s a bird. Woman: It’s a plane Man 2: It’s Supermann!
See what I did?

Lets not speculate about what MNKD wants to do. The whole altruistic motives for MNKD or Al's actions (about how MNKD wants to _help_ as many patients as possible) is really unprovable. We may wish someone of Mr.Hanks's nature to endorse Afrezza but it won't happen. That costs money. Enough money that MNKD may just survive for an extra couple months to twiddle their thumbs as usual. What's required first and foremost right now is MNKD to articulate a strategy for keeping the lights on through 2016. Celebrity endorsements, TV ads, marketing pushes are all pipe dreams with the cash position right now.

lakon, what if we were on Opra's favorite things list! I can see her holding up the little Dreamboat saying, THIS has changed my life! I could happen, and will with someone at some point. Thanks for the link about Al:-). I still tear up over him being gone, and I seldom cry about anything. Like you say, his plans will be played out. Something tells me when the shorts least expect it:-)

I hope and wish for health upon him and for him to get on an Afrezza regimen I think they can endorse as long as they list the risks. I am going to goggle this later to look. I know Cedric the Entertainer does something with Diabetic Nerve Pain. I have no idea if its medication or just a movement. IMO if you have a limp noodle and its no longer working I would hope most men would not need a celebrity to get him off his ass.... lol Tom Hanks would be a god send for the drug but as of right now until the safety test is completed why would he risk his reputation? Complete the lung safety test, and prove medically that it is superior and change the label and he has a little less risk. Even then though, he has so much money would it really be worth it for him?
