Spiro is still alive after using Afrezza for over 8 1/2 years. His A1c continues to range between 6.4 and 6.6. Fasting Glucose has increased to around 135. Spiro's doctor still can't figure out, why most insurance companies will not cover Afrezza. It's sad to see the scripts so low. Spiro still owns a few shares, but hddn't checked out the board for a while and didn't know MNKD has a patch.

Spiro is still alive and well. Spiro has been using the miracle drug Afrezza for almost 6 years now. This despite the fact that both Adam Feuerstein and Martin Shkreli warned Spiro that Afrezza doesn't work. Spiro's A1c has remained mostly around 6.5 or lower, despite the fact that he eats whatever he wants and refuses to exercise because of various aches and pains related to possibly aging a little. Afrezza is working so well with Spiro, his PSA is actually higher than his A1c. Years ago, Spiro's use of Afrezza was challenged by a guy named Trump, or someone like that. Here was Spiro's response to him.

Yes, Spiro has lost some weight, but still often thinks of pizza and other high carb foods. It took Spiro over 6 years to accept the fact that he is a Type 2 diabetic.
Some A1c history
4/05/2008 5.5 Doctor said, Spiro you a pre-diabetic. Lose weight, watch your diet and exercise. Spiro lied and said OK.
1/30.2009 6.0 Doctor first called Spiro a diabetic. Lose weight, watch your diet and exercise. Spiro said OK, but thought to himself, I am not a diabetic, I feel great.
1/28/2010 6.5 Doctor said Spiro you are a diabetic, you have to take this thing serious, its only going to get worse. Spiro said OK, so I'm a pre-diabetic.
For the next 4 years Spiro exercised more, tried to eat better, lost weight, then gained weight and lost weight again. His A1C levels varied between 6.2 and 6.5.
6/6/2014 6.6 Doctor said, Spiro you are a diabetic and you are getting worse. Spiro now, knowing a little more about diabetes, because of his investment in MNKD said, Maybe, i am a diabetic.
For the next 7 months, Spiro was now somewhat determined to see his A1c level improved, exercised regularly, watched his diet and saw his weight decrease from 214 to 201.
2/18/15 7.1 Doctor said, Spiro you are a diabetic, at your age we shouldn't sit back and watch your condition get worse. Reality check, Spiro finally admitted to himself that he was a Type 2 diabetic.
I guess it's a process that every pre-diabetic will go through in some manner or another. For Spiro, it took over 6 years to face reality and accept the fact that he is Type 2 diabetic. Yes I have lost weight and yes I can turn my back more often on that chocolate covered marshmallow cookie. Finally, yes I can give Afrezza most of the credit for my recent success.
One of the main reasons that Spiro quit posting was that Liane refused to change Spiro's official title to Lead Assistant Chief Global Administrator. Also, on February 22, 2015, Liane called Spiro an EXUBERANT PUMPER. Can you believe that? Nothing has really change too much with Spiro. There are still three Spiro's fighting it out. There is the Crazy Spiro, who is currently investing all of his money in silver and gold stocks, while the Screwball Spiro is reading Mining Stock message boards. The Smart Spiro hasn't spoken to the Crazy Spiro in over 30 years, but will occasionally speak to the Screwball Spiro.

It's obvious that Peppy is deliberately trying to agitate Spiro into a political dialogue. But Spiro will refuse to take the bait. This board has been doing just great avoiding politics. Actually that's too bad, because politics can lead to great discussions, that is if certain people can control their hysteria. As for FOX News, of course that is Spiro's choice for real news, because they are seldom a purveyor of Fake News.
Spiro here, Spiro loves politics almost as much as he loves Afrezza, but you have to learn how to use each one correctly. Some people never do.

Spiro thinks that there are a ton of stupid people out there and unfortunately a lot of them are doctors treating diabetic patients, along with the infamous SO. Jeoy, along with Spiro and a few other posters on this board, have a unique insight into the miracle insulin Afrezza. Because we are Afrezza users and get to witness it's unique performance treating our Diabetes with every meal. We actually enjoy witnessing the incredible stupidity of so many doctors, stock analyst and in particular the infamous SO. Now, Joeypotsandpans is a fighter and appears is thoroughly enjoying the battle, because he knows he is right and can't lose. Whereas, Spiro and a few others, prefer the sidelines and just sit back and enjoy the fact that their lives are much better, because of Afrezza.
Spiro here, Stupidity must be a contagious disease, because so many people, mostly Doctor's and SO, caught it so easily.

Spiro thinks that one of problems that MNKD has, relates to the very high number of brain dead doctors that Afrezza reps have to deal with. A diabetic friend of Spiro's questioned his doctor about his A1c being over 8. His doctor replied, that wasn't too bad for a type 2 diabetic and that most of his diabetic patients had an A1c higher than that. BTW, Spiro's friend is 73 years ago, doesn't own a computer and is stubborn as a mule. He loves his doctor and has total faith in him.

Afrezza is a game changer from the first day that it is used properly by a diabetic. Of course Spiro and joeypotsandpans had an advantage on other new users, because we were participants on this board and knew exactly what we had to do to start getting control of our diabetes. Using Afrezza properly is such a no-brainer that it is truly frightening that so many doctors appear incapable or unwilling to figure it out. As Joey mentioned, Spiro usually takes 4 units with his average meal. If the meal is larger than usual, he will take 8 units. When Spiro snacks during the day, he will take a 4 unit dose after every snack. Spiro will puff 20 -24 units of Afrezza per day. Ok, Spiro lied, on his cruise, he puffed up to 42 units a day. But that was the cruise ships fault. Spiro's last blood test on November 6, indicated an A1c of 6.1, his lowest since starting Afrezza. But this is not the whole story, Spiro's other wacko blood chemistry has remained in the normal zone for almost 2 consecutive years now. Could this be just one of the fringe benefits of blood glucose control? Spiro's doctor certainly thinks so.

Spiro is a notorious picture guy. At both of Spiro's meetings with the astute Joeypotsandpans, Spiro's cameras, cell phones and other suspicious devices were confiscated by security, prior to entering the room were Joeypotsandpans was seated with his entourage. Also at the end of our meetings, Joeypotsandpans seem to mysteriously disappear.

Spiro played every stupid table game but roulette. Most of these table games have all these circles, sometimes 5 or 6, where you have to put a chip in every circle. Sometimes up to 3 or 4 chips in some circles. A dealer told Spiro that real men play all the circles, so Spiro played all the circles. Spiro quickly found out that it's better to be a chickenshit and only play one circle and to hell with being a real man. Spiro guesses, that playing the circles is kinda like playing MNKD options.

This was the second time that Joeypotsandpans had taken Spiro to an incredible steak house in Vegas. The bone-in filet was absolutely mouth watering delicious and probably the best steak that Spiro has ever eaten. Joeypotsandpans not only knows where the best steaks are in Vegas, but also the best casinos to visit.

Spiro is back from another incredible trip to Vegas. The highlight of the trip was a great dinner meeting with joeypotsandpans along with his incredible son and 3 hockey guys. It didn't take Spiro too long to notice that joeypotsandpans was a high carb consuming hockey fan, after he immediately attacked the delicious looking bread basket. Even though Spiro is a bread loving Greek, he steadfastly refused to join the hot bread eating group of non diabetics except for joeypotsandpans. After dinner, Spiro and joeypotsandpans clicked their Dreamboat inhalers together and puffed the miracle drug Afrezza. What an end to a great dinner.
Meanwhile, back in Miami, after Spiro returns home, he notices his fully decorated Christmas tree outside in the side yard. It was only later that Spiro found out that the tree had a Preying Mantis egg pod that hatched while he was away. Mrs. Spiro, after having to deal with hundreds of baby Preying Mantis in the house, told Spiro that he will only have artificial Christmas trees in the future. Damn, Spiro missed all the fun.
Spiro here, if only the rest of the diabetics in the world knew what they were missing.

This recent color change to purple was the result of successful contract renegotiation with Liane. Spiro is glad you mentioned it Liane, it has been bothering him that it was hot pink. But because Spiro is color blind, he doesn't notice it. It is only when certain people make an issue out of the unmanly color that was assigned to the Lead Global Moderator that Spiro became upset.

Spiro here, Happy Thanksgiving to all. Spiro's A1c was so good last week, it will cause him to eat two pieces of pumpkin pie today. But of course, Spiro will take a correction dose anyway.
