I suspect that using the powdered form as an inhaled vaccine would require a whole separate trial to demonstrate effectiveness on par with an injection.

I suspect that using the powdered form as an inhaled vaccine would require a whole separate trial to demonstrate effectiveness on par with an injection. Absolutely true. But when you have a global pandemic and need an easy to distribute vaccine, anything is possible. The defense production act plus an unlimited amount of money from the US government can make it happen. All we need is a small feasibility study showing it might work.

I suspect that Pfizer knows about Mannkind, but whether either party has approached the other is anyone’s guess. Wasn’t it Pfizer that sold a boatload of insulin to Mannkind that has been talked about and kept in cold storage for years? I think there was a manufacturing plant in Europe, too, that Pfizer had right of first refusal on and opted to purchase the plant. Pfizer also had a run at inhaled insulin in 2007 with Exubera which they wrote off ($2.4 bb) after a failed marketing campaign. They more than likely know about Mannkind.

I was always curious when mannkind would try and get the pfizer insulin recertified and if it's still usable how much that would lower the production cost.

Didn't Mnkd once have a partnership/relationship of some kind with Fluvax or some such flu vaccine company? Can't remember why that did not move forward. Seems so logical.

"TechnoVex Inc. Privately owned company." I'm confused, isn't that mankind owned?

What makes you think Mike is not already working on this? Mike mentioned awhile back on one of the calls MNKD is doing something but gave no details. He is probably under a non-disclosure at this point. What we do know is mDNA is a big fat molecule and would probably work nicely with Technosphere. What we also know is Technosphere is a proven and already approved platform with an approved inhaler device which is cheap and disposable.

Not the right thread for this comment, but can you imagine how scared shorts must be right now thinking about what would happen if mnkd is thrust into the covid spotlight.

What makes you think Mike is not already working on this? Mike mentioned awhile back on one of the calls MNKD is doing something but gave no details. He is probably under a non-disclosure at this point. Most of the times Mike has mentioned Covid he's mostly just said stuff about how it encouraged the company to streamline, do work from home, get into Telehealth, and such. The one time he mentioned Covid related products, at least that I've seen in the last 5 calls (of various sorts), this is what he said: seekingalpha.com/article/4375558-mannkind-corporation-mnkd-ceo-michael-castagna-presents-oppenheimer-fall-healthcare-life?part=singleSteve Lichtman
One participant on the call asked about COVID vaccine that, technosphere's ability to be shelf stable and not [indiscernible] would perhaps lend itself positively there. Is that a possibility, any discussions there?
Michael Castagna
Yes. Steve, we didn't want to jump on the COVID bandwagon real quickly. When we heard COVID, we looked at and said, okay, what can we use our platform, our scalability, and our manufacturing capacity for? And we looked at a few things, we quickly killed them, because [indiscernible] got to make it, bet on some of these or kill them and move forward and focus on your company. And so we were able to go through probably four or five assets. We actually killed all of them. We have -- a couple of we're still looking at. We think now, because at the time we were hoping COVID would go away in July, right and people would be back to normal. Now it looks like this'll be penetrating and simmering for a while. We are really looking at some of the opportunities we thought about before and seeing if there's any therapeutic products we can bring forward on the platform.
Everyone can judge for themselves how excited to be.

The vaccine contains mRNA not DNA and Pfizer's version consists of 2 shots. Their vaccine has to be stored at minus 90f. mRNA will enter one's DNA and you essentially become a GMO = your God given DNA is changed. I hope MNKD has nothing to do with this vaccine which also contains nanobots and Luciferase. Luciferase (Google it) is as component that leaves an indelible "mark" signifying that you have taken the vaccine.

There is a pretty good chance 100M people in the U.S. are going to get these vaccines and will be getting luciferase, regardless. I for one would like to see Technosphere being used for it. I would also like to see MNKD get $100M+ from BARDA and BP. As Mike said "We are really looking at some of the opportunities we thought about before and seeing if there's any therapeutic products we can bring forward on the platform." IMO it looks like Pfizer has a winner. I for one am hoping Mike is past the thinking stage.
