Great question, I think we're all trying to figure that out. I'm 25k shares @ $6.00. At this point I'm not selling any! But unless this goes under $1, I'm not buying until I know something more than I do now.

i feel like our best bet is wait till jan 1st? to see whats really happening with sanofi after that i think we can make a legitimate guess lol, no point in selling for me theres no way im going to be able to claim 20k in losses on taxes lmao so i rather just ride it out hopping for the best i just feel like 4.50 is a long shot atm im already kind of want to get out thats why im thinking if i average down more maybe i have a better chance at leaving with less loss

Which is pretty much here, although this may be one of the most manipulated stocks ever, sometimes you see little flash crashes.

If I were you, I would have your broker issue you your shares in a certificate - put it under your mattress and move on. Come back in three years and look again at it's value. You will be pleasantly surprised!

I think I'm done buying. I've already placed my bets over the past year and so far it's quite a huge dud at ~120k in the red. I'll look at all this again in a year and re-think my options.

I have just bought 714 shares @ $1.83 and I'm down 35k already. Will continue to buy if price drops further. I believe it will take time before SP picks up again. My guess is Q2 16 we should see some real progress that will drive the SP price up.

Yeah I can't even touch my money for six more years, will sweat it out... thinking about taking a course in investing though, next time will be different. Never fall in love with a stock, no kidding. But best place to sweat it out is at the gym. Going now. If I were mgmt, I would offer up an "investor day" tour of facilities or equivalent, something to showcase what's going on in there. Really, the worst thing to do is let people guess. We will continue to spout all kinds of conspiracy theories (mine are tame by comparison to what's out there) in a vacuum. Doesn't have to cost you a thing and you get all this good will in return.

heres my best guess
Usually by now, retail holders give up and marketmakers/hedge funds/WS crooks.. - who ever it is would have had their required number of shares..either on the long side or still holding short because they think MNKD will run out of $$$ before Afrezza sales pick up... BUT the retail holders here in this stock are holding up and even adding despite day by day red and hit articles...
at some point , the stock has to run up..Due to either Afrezza sales / TS partnership/ funding / SNY buy in...
Shorts betting the above wont happen , longs holding strong.. one of the above catalysts should lit the fire in the stock

I'm waiting for a dollar, and if/when it gets there, i'll add a small amount to my position. I think it will come early next month after SNY ends the partnership, which seems almost certain to me. Hard to believe the combined Afrezza/TS franchise isn't worth at least 450 million to someone, and that would be the market cap if the stock trades down to a dollar. Right now, it looks like the market is placing no value on TS, so who knows, maybe they surprise and announce some kind of deal. It's down to a pure speculation play for me.

We are not the only game in town. There are several other particle inhalation companies, and there is a gigantic facility being constructed in the UK. Those are the facts. I am trying to keep tabs on these (see category "other biopharma"-- particle inhalation). Peter Thiel says, the only kind of business you want to be in is one where you have a monopoly. That is Afrezza. If Brandicourt is really that stupid to discard a monopoly (only game in town, no competition) then he'll get fired. Of course, he'll get fired and still be compensated for a couple more years. These guys know how to negotiate for their own benefit, but I am not sure that they can otherwise see beyond the tip of their own noses in many cases. Too many moral hazards with Sanofi. It's in their best interests not to compete with themselves.

Lots of folks here that still believe in the science. I would be more than willing to invest more if management was more transparent. I get the feeling others feel the same?
I got in on approval and I cannot even begin to understand what most here have been through. At this point, I'm on hold and very guilty of falling in love with this stock. This board has been a blessing in terms of education and venting frustration. I'm left with only questions now as no one with the real answers are talking. What a ride ~ GLTAL!

Now (while your account is at its low $$$ point) may be a good time to convert a traditional IRA to a ROTH IRA.
I converted earlier in 2015. My previous IRA deposits were pre-tax, so I will have to pay a one-time tax on my account value when I do my 2015 taxes, but by converting to a ROTH now I will not have to pay any capital gains taxes NOR any taxes on cash withdrawals for my retirement (although there is a 5 year waiting period after converting to a ROTH to get the tax-free withdrawals).
When MNKD does take off, I will save a LOT of $$$ on future taxes for a minimal tax payment today.
FYI: Consider this a public service announcement.
Good fortune all.
