The problem I have with this theory is that both MNKD and SNY have said they are disappointed with the sales thus far. If it was just a pilot program why would they be disappointed with the sales? MNKD is in financial trouble, so I think its time to get this ball rolling and soon. Also the sudden resignation of Hakan says something as well. There is something going on and its not good. Sorry if I sound pessimistic but this is the gut feelings that I have and I trust my instincts. I just pray that MNKD has a plan for further financing, but then we go further in debt. Whatever SNY's plan is... they better move on it we don't have all the time in the world. Because even with "pilot" programs, there are projections made just like anything else that is sold. And it looks like Sanofi's internal projections were way off assuming the pilot program is what Sanofi is doing.

Guys, I've been hearing things on twitter / cafepharma over the last few months about a "pilot program" for Afrezza. See here: cafepharma.com/boards/threads/does-sanofi-rank-sales-people-selling-afrezza.584319/Based on the the Nrx and Trx numbers we've been seeing (which have been strangely constant), is it possible that this drug really hasn't even been launched on what would be considered a full-scale launch for a company. I mean, the consistency in scripts is just plain weird. It's as if Sanofi hasn't even hit the gas pedal yet. Could the last 12 months simply have been a pilot program as referred to in the thread above? Where Sanofi effectively took Afrezza for a test-drive? Could be one of the reasons for the confidential treatment order. Just a thought! Could be or maybe Sanofi is purposefully gas lighting Mannkind by not pushing Afrezza to as many doctors as it could and purposefully not negotiating with insurance companies to get Al to come down in his asking sell price. But as I have said before, we don't know what is going on because of so called confidentiality provisions.

Sorry, but you are also misinterpreting my comments. Let me make myself crystal clear. If MannKind can survive into 2017, which I wholeheartedly believe, then MannKind is the investment of a lifetime. Still confused? People were saying that just a few years ago and yet here we are languishing in the low 2's after FDA approval and partnership with Afrezza unable to show any meaningful growth (planned or unplanned no one knows). Point to be taken is that no one knows the future. Mannkind could be the best investment of a liftetime or the worst investment. So far the indication is for the later.

If you think it is depressing here, try working at Mannkind. I can only bet many who work for the company are depressed seeing their hard work faltering in the marketplace and seeing other projects languish in the lab as no partners have come forward for other technosphere applications. If there truly is a morale problem, we might end up seeing more people leave. I am sure someone here is watching the job listings page to see if jobs are opening up.

No one knows what is going on except for those in the company and Sanofi. The only thing we do know is that 2015 hasn't been kind to Mannkind and that many of the events have not bode well for the company. There hasn't been one piece of good news to telegraph to investors that things are headed in the right direction. Those are the facts and not the rampant conjecture that plagues this and other message boards. What is needed is clear guidance but we know that isn't going to happen. The only good news is coming from many who are using Afrezza and that they are experiencing control of their diabetes as they never have had before.

1) Statistically speaking, Al Mann is not likely to live three more days much less three more years. This is the end of the line for him. 2) Hakan departure and CTO options are related. 3) Hakan was just a placeholder as CEO. 4) Company was not terribly concerned with cash reserves. 1+2+3+4 = $10B buyout. 10B buyout? Will that be our Hanukkah and Christmas gift from Al next month? Let's hope so!

Yeah, but you aren't doing your homework because if you did, you'd know how TP decided to handle this. Might want to look up Assuage Pharma. [ Not certain what you are getting at? And what homework I didn't do? So a spin off of a non profit with no funding (a non profit opening up a spin off? Wow how rares and novel...) is going to help Mannkind bring a drug to market. All we are missing now is a few 100 millions to get this going. Check this out www.tpims.org/donateIt that is their business plan for raising funds? And their focus seems to be on smoke cessation more than pain. Hmmm... I suspected you wouldn't. Good day!

Torrey Pines is a non profit and not ever set up to be a phase 3 partner... Where you not aware of that? I would suggest you read your own reference! Yeah, but you aren't doing your homework because if you did, you'd know how TP decided to handle this. Might want to look up Assuage Pharma.

It's important to understand that Torrey Pines is a partner ONLY in co-developing an opioid pain relief medication with MannKind's Technosphere delivery system. Torrey Pines is NOT a pharmaceutical company that has the cash to develop and/or marketing this co-patented pain medication. It is a research institute. Both Torrey Pines and MannKind Corporation would need to find and sign a big pharmaceutical company (BP) to fund the regulatory (FDA/EMEA) trials and, assuming approval, to market it globally. This happens to be one of the API types - a unique API that has never been approved - that Hakan once said is the most expensive and would take the longest to develop into a marketable product. MannKind has other API that can exit the pipeline much faster and cheaper than this opioid, IMHO. You are right and why Torrey Pines did this: www.tpims.org/newsdidn't Mannkind once mention smoking cessation as a possible TS indication? I would think we might hear something between these two.

Am I dreaming this or did the company file a patent application in Asia just a few weeks ago for the same (pain)? First Asia, now Europe? Anyone remember that? Not sure about that but I don't get overly excited about patents as that's done routinely to protect one's products and done way in advance. I'll get excited and do a little dance for my wife if and when there is actual news of a real product and hopefully with a real partner ready to be sold. Unfortunately, that's a long ways off.

Funny. I wouldn't be surprised if he has tried but Al wouldn't accept it. I applaud Matt for sticking it out. He has a very difficult and stressful job. I think Al is the only one you could expect to go down with the ship. If it were the case that Hakan jumped ship willfully, I wouldn't be surprised if it has crossed Matt's mind as well, but Matt seems much more involved and "there" than Hakan ever was. Hakan had to be told by Al to stop selling shares if I remember correctly, he was like a scorned child at that particular CC, I never trusted or liked him. We have no idea why Hakan left but the typical silence from the company is not surprising. I'd rather have a not so effective CEO leave than get news of production problems.

Well this "partnership", for all who'd like to call it such, is sure doing us a lot of good [sarcasm intended]. This "thing" with Torrey Pines has been known for many years, and whether it's beginning to pick up steam or not, will have no material effect on whether MNKD survives the short term. I don't think this topic was worthy of its own thread, just more [inedible] fodder for us to drool over during this trying time. Is this also FUD? mnkd.proboards.com/thread/1295/torrey-pines

It does seem that there is a group of online posters that enjoy connecting dots that frankly don't connect. And if i recall, Torrey Pines is/was having financial difficulties too and that put the pain trials it had hoped to start in 2014 on ice. I would suggest you look who Torrey Pines is. If you did you would understand why your comment is not particlulary fair to TP. I would also postulate that your posting history makes me believe you are simply throwing stuff hoping something sticks (and you sadly have an embarrasment of riches to creat FUD out of right now!). Is this FUD? www.tcpalm.com/news/shaping-our-future/torrey-pines-burning-through-cash-and-employees-state-reports-show-ep-932454041-332821171.htmlIs that not the same torrey pines we both speak of? Where you not aware of this issue?
