Holy crap! I thought most people on this board are true believers in the long term success of Afrezza/MNKD but the shorts have some serious fanatics on their side. Makes me nervous to think what they know that I don't. They barely have another couple weeks to cover and they're increasing the stakes while there's insider buying going on? I wonder if they have their own 'proboard' site to bash everything. If this thing dips to the low 4s again, it's a serious lesson for me in the ease and degree of rigging the market.
I hate to admit it but I gotto admire the shorts for their conviction. Hopefully, we'll end up on the winning side.

It's sobering to hear first hand experiences about the actual time it takes from phonecall to actual filling of the prescription. I am trying to understand what part of this entire process was unpredictable. Shouldnt the (well compensated) management be expected to be in the know about the procedures needed and hence not be surprised that things are 8 weeks behind? I'm not implying that this is some srious impediment to market penetration. Just trying to think aloud as to what they expected going in. At best, this seems like a miscommunicaton to shareholders. At worst, it's a blunder that should teach them some solid lessons for the future.

I agree nothing 'fundamentally' has changed but since there are no sales to speak of, we are at the mercy of daily news to extrapolate the success or failure of the company. A confidence sapping Earnings call followed by the relief of Jeffries report is all we had for this 5$ roller coaster. Neither should have caused these wild ~20% swings in price but until there is solid, provable sales and commitment on the ground by SNY, we won't have a support price. It's disheartening but the shorts will be in control until that point. Afrezza's is now totally in SNY's court. In theory MNKD has no role but to execute on production targets. I hope we get the answers to why the potential candidates for TS went from apparently too many to nothing for another couple years over the span of a quarter. I see that as another support slab for this stock. If not, the shorts will be right to call this a one trick pony (and a weak trick at that). I'm chump change investor compared to the frequent posters on this board but having this as my largest holding hasn't been kind to my stomach

I've been ignoring all the posts about loaning out shares all this while but I guess it's time for me to make some change while holding onto the stock. I also use Fidelity but there's no option for me to loan out my shares. Is this something that small fry investors like me don't see or should I sign up specifically for this? I have a margin trading account with Fidelity.. if that helps understanding my question better.

The Jeffries report was reassuring but still makes me cringe whenever the spirometers are quoted as the main impediment. Why SNY? Why could you not see this? Ugh! I expect the momentum to continue next week even if it's not such a steep climb. Quite a few days like this before I break even. Hopefully, good things will come to those who wait

Aaaaaand... right on cue after the tiniest of good news comes a JPM downgrade. Afrezza might stick around by the time I get diabetic but I need something for heartache
Post edit: I read this news late. It was already published this morning.

Where was this guy during the CC? Used the dreamboat for the experimental THC candidate perhaps??

Thanks davinci. I think I agree with most of your post and I do this mental exercise quite often before I pull the sell trigger on my positions. I'm glad you put it down so I can run a checklist of the things I should think about next time I have to make a buy/sell decision on this company.

Given the history of the Technosphere application trajectory (From 'embarassment of riches' to 'update by end of the quarter' to '12-18 months') I am updating my own valuation of the stock. I used to think ~8$ by the end of th eyear was very likely but now it seems we will not see 5$ before 2016. I believe a fresh round of dilution has a > 70% probablity with the interest rates about to rise and with the board staying as it is.

This is a bigger blow than the boo-hoo-spirometry-delayed-adoption excuse fest of a conference call. I was sulking at 5$ now I'm furious. These guys sure know how to snatch a failure running away from them.

I am reeling from the shocking levels of the ineptitude.Forget my financial losses - I spared a thought for Al Mann. This is the legacy he is going to leave the world with? Of all the companies he started, his namesake will be remembered as his Waterloo. Bloddy hell. I thought the product will sell itself (and so will the stock) but no force on earth can stop a bumbling idiot's quest for destruction of stock holder value

I can't blame him for being smart. Rubes like me bought in at a PPS that assumed the drug was serving an unmet need. MNKD management is neither efficient nor trustworthy but they are smarter at maintaining their financial interest than I ever was. I never thought I could be so wrong in understanding what their 'embarassment of riches' comment actually meant.
I have no choice but to hold my position now but I will never again invest in any product, however good, before checking whether the management is actually competent. I'll soon celebrate an anniversary of kicking myself everyday.

My god baba.. Here I am whining about the price you suspect I'm short? I'd be dancing in the streets if I really was. I got burned a couple years ago shorting a stock and I'm never getting into that again. My only investing options are going long or staying out. Anyways, I was trying to say this sector in general and this company in particular are clearly not for people like me. I will stick around and wait for my exit point.
