Wow.. just wow I am disappointed with today's price movement to say the very least but I have to applaud the balls on the people on the short side. They practically are a bunch of geniuses. I mean no cynicism on that statement. Longer term, I hope my fellow longs will be rewarded for the patience but in the meanwhile, I can't help but jealously look at the profits the shorts are raking in.

Here's what I am hoping will happen: 1.No new technosphere applications will be announced 2.Shorts show up in their full strength 3.We longs back up the truck 4.We wait like patient farmers and reap a great harvest in a couple years

All I know is I am not repeating a mistake. I did not buy more in the low 5s (it would have at the very least brought down my average price). If the shorts do stage a big attack, I will keep adding to my position. I might not agree with the general estimate of the PPS on this board but I am certain this company deserves far greater valuation than the paltry 3B

www.bbc.com/news/health-31291722Did you guys read about this? I think it's a fascinating idea. I am not starting the thread for its impact on Afrezza. I don't think anyone can seriously consider this a viable product for a few years but was wondering if anyone on the board can educate me on how this mechanism of on-off for the insulin molecule works. Thanks!

SNY loading up to 5% is the one rumor I wish comes true soon though realistically, I don't see that. SNY has issues of their own and I tend to think buying up a stake in MNKD needs some coherent strategy. Maybe after they have good CEO in place, they might.

Liane.. I haven't been on this board long enough and don't know if you are joking. I hope you are. Just in case you were serious, I feel I'd be remiss if I didn't mention that global warming is climate change. Climate change manifests itself globally. Weather is a _local_ phenomenon that will touch extremities on both ends due to the global phenomenon of climate change.
Just to clarify my opinion on afrezzauser - I am glad he is doing what he's doing. I would prefer a diverse user base and not a single voice singing A's praise. Until we hit that critical mass, I would prefer the companies (and preferably Endos in established journals) do the talking.

I can't let the examples you choose slide though.. Global warming is not junk science. Also, how dare you besmirch the good bud? I am a believer in its healing powers

I am in the same camp. All pumping and field data should come from Mannkind or Sanofi. Anything else make me uneasy. I might be a heretic for saying this but I deeply distrust users being product evangelists. This includes afrezzauser too. It's noted everywhere that he has no financial incentive but I would very much prefer that he had a financial incentive (and that he declared it publicly).

Here's my (admittedly simplistic) reading of the Hospira deal... Company with revenues of ~4B being acquired for 15B. A 4X multiple of revenue (and 45x for earnings) for a company that's not going to see any big opportunity for future growth. I don't really like the multiples that pharma companies see but that's just the way things are. I have said it before that I'll be happy to get $10 for MNKD . I am not trying to suggest that MNKD and HSP are in anyway a similar opportunity but if HSP commands that kind of multiple, I am a little more confident than yesterday that my money is sort of safe.

I was wondering since SNY is a French company, they might see it as an advantage with the Euro poised to get weaker. Does that translate to any benefit to MNKD or will be a straight USD in sales, USD in sharing before SNY exchanges it for Euros? I am not implying this will be material to the share price or valuation of MNKD but just checking if other members have given it any thought..

I don't know why but ordinary investors calling up and getting a response from these giant corporations impresses me

We can't hope to hear anything about Afrezza in SNY's results for another quarter at least. On a different but related note, has there been any official confirmation about that conference in Vegas from either Sanofi or Mannkind?

Hi Poorneil, just wondering how long you have been in this stock. Have you done your DD. Are you aware of all the other aspects that are involved here. It's not as black and white as you portray it to be. There are a lot of other applications to consider not just with Sanofi but with other BP. I feel $10 to 11 is extremely low. Coco Hi Coco.. I've held MNKD for a little over a year. I came into the possession of the stock through options that I bought before the Adcom and kept adding since I thought it had blockbuster potential. I still think it has great potential but I am tempering my expectations of what kind of sales seem realistic. I did my DD and don't have any intention of selling it at a loss but it seems like I swung my estimates a bit too much to the side of optimism. I have been a lurker on this board for a while and finally registered. Didn't mean to say that the 10-11 PPS is all it deserves. I was just implying that I will be happy to sell at that point. It won't make me rich by any stretch but it will just teach me a good lesson on investing I hope

All this seems like making connections where the dots don't exist. My average cost is $8 and there's nothing I'd like more than all this to be true but I am firmly in the camp of only believing whatever passes the sharpest Occam's razor. Here's what I believe.. MNKD hired Greenhill cos they weren't exactly flooded with offers. SNY gave MNKD the fairest deal they deserved and tied future payments to the actual success of the product. I see nothing spectacular going on behind the scenes and though I believe A is a great product, I'm now of the opinion that 10-11$ is the upper limit for MNKD unless the pipeline shows some surprise.
